And Kean last season. We were all convinced we were bringing in a replacement. Wrong!!!You would think so although I remember thinking this when we loaned out Kenny last season

Don't go all Ricky Ryder on us, Dwight!View attachment 136150View attachment 136151View attachment 136152View attachment 136153
And so on. Really hope this is true
Take Gomes for example.
25M fee, 6M wages.
15M left amortisation
Keep him, you are 11M down this year, 11M down next year (assuming you don't sell him.)
Sell him for 15M, you are 6M better off this year, 11M better off next year
Sell him for 9M, you are neutral this year, 11M better off next year.
Let him go for free, you are 9M down this year, 11M better off next year
Loan him no fee (full wages paid), you are 5M down this year, 11M down next year (assuming you don't sell him).
More or less
Reading was one of those clubs and they've had a couple of players off us the last few seasons and they've simply not played. The kid needs game time and if that means drop a division that's far more beneficial right now. Smart choice by the ladApparently he turned down a championship loan. He probably saw Ellis Simms tearing up the first division last year and decided it is better to play. Conversely, Gordon and Branthwaite had more difficult loans in the championship.
Good decision in my book.?
Very different. Not sold on Anguissa myself. Another midfielder that doesn't score or assist really - is he all the different to what we already have there?
Well we need to take the chance. We can’t stand still. The operative word, for me don't take the chance.
Eh? You'll have to explain the reference to me Windy!Don't go all Ricky Ryder on us, Dwight!
Yeah, short term fixes, works to create profit in the short term, creates a long term problem if you can't boost revenue in future seasons. But who cares about the future ?
Our number 10 is costing us 15M every season.
Delph- selling for 2M would leave us approx 3M better off this season (7M next season)
Mina- Sell for 10M would mean we were 4M better off this season, 11M better off next season.
Kean, sell for 11M would leave us cash neutral this season, 9M better off this season. So 31M sale = 20M better off this season.
Letting James go for free would see us somewhere between 5-10M better off this season.
Of course there is some guesswork in the salaries above, but they shouldn't be too far off.
(You actually need players to come in as well which probably negates some of the saving you'd make but the exits of number 19 and Delph at worst next summer = well over 20M less out the door)
We have too many of them alreadyVery different.
He carries the ball forward regularly and successfully. He's a good passer and is strong and mobile.
Who??We have too many of them already
We don't have any ?We have too many of them already
Strong Mobile midfielders who carry the ball forward and are good passes of the ball. (sorry I was trying to be funny and failed)Who??
Wouldn't these overinflated prices catch up with us though as the inflated fee would impact several years? Also, selling anyone would become impossible without some kind of loss, no?We could also use it creatively to cook our own books and create funds couldnt we eg. If we were hypothetically to sell Kean to Napoli for £50m but in return bought Koulibally for £50m - hyped up prices obviously but through amortisation and ffp wouldnt it provide both us and Napoli with a transfer pot neither of us had before a deal????
