Brillant mate.

On “Number 10”, how does that saving breakdown with the amortisation if his contract is terminated?

Also, if we sold Richy or Keane, whats the financial savings to wages? (Chose these 2 because big fees were involved and I’m assuming the club can have a lot more room to do deals, if they were to leave this year or next year)
if a player who was bought for 45M or so had his contract cancelled there would be a 9M loss instead of a 15M loss... There or thereabouts.

Richarlison, anything between around 15-20M is left on his amortisation, so anything above that + wages saved would be the profit.

Keane anything above 7-8M + wages saved

Again- the calculations are pretty crude but won't be too far out.

Wouldn't these overinflated prices catch up with us though as the inflated fee would impact several years? Also, selling anyone would become impossible without some kind of loss, no?
Its above my paygrade mate but I've copied and pasted this from forbes - its written by a much smarter person than me lol..its all creative accountancy.. ...What also makes sense is the financials of the deal. On paper, Barcelona are said to be paying €70 million for Pjanic, while younger man Arthur is costing Juve €80 million, which looks to work out as a swap deal plus €10 million cash from the Bianconeri. However, FFP rules mean that both clubs will be able to report €60 million profit on their books, due to player amortisation.
Barca paid €30 million for Arthur in 2018 on a six-year deal, meaning that his value decreases by €5 million per year in terms of FFP. Therefore, he is now worth €20m in terms of their accounting, meaning a sale for the equivalent of €80 million means the Catalan side can show a €60 million profit.
Similarly, Pjanic arrived in Turin from Roma for €35 million in July 2016 on a five-year contract, meaning his FFP value reduces by €7m per year, leaving €21 million in value on the books after two years when he was handed a new five-year contract by the club. The remaining €21 million is then divided by five and therefore reduces by €4.2 million per year, and currently leaving €13 million in value on Juve’s accounts. A €70 million sale therefore leaves a tidy €57 million profit for the Old Lady

Yes but usually in the form of a pay-off e.g. give them £2m to get them off the wage bill which reflects the difference between what a new club will pay and the contracted wages.
So there is a way of getting players on super inflated wages off our wage bill then?

Say Benfica offer £15m for Gomes but only want to pay him £50k a week - We could pocket the £15m and save half of his wages and they get a player?

Yes although logically Benfica would only buy him if they thought they could sell him for more than we are asking.

Otherwise they just borrow him for a year and offer to pay some of his wages.

Yep.

We have gone way over the top in wages which makes shifting them almost impossible.

Best we can hope with is a wage subsidy while he runs down his current deal.

So with Gomes we have a guaranteed loss of £15m in amortisation and £18m in wages.

To put that into perspective St Etienne is for sale free of debt for less than Andre Gomes will cost Everton over his 5 years at the club.

And Everton have had about 10 signings who have been just as bad financially.

He who must not be named: £45m + £25m wages
Bolasie: £27m + £20m wages
Gomes:£25m+ £30m wages
Tosun: £24m + £20m wages
Schneiderlin: £24m + £15m wages
Walcott:£20m+£20m wages
Niasse: £13m+£10m wages
McCarthy: £13m+£10m wages
Williams: £11m+£7m wages
Total = £359m worth of investment and only the top one has played more than a few matches for us

James McCarthy played over 100 games and was a very good player in the first few seasons. Injuries destroyed him.

Agree on the rest though.
