Everton Summer transfers 2021

Why would Southampton sell for £10m?
OK they double their money but as we have found won't be able to replace him adequately for that fee.
I'd keep hold of him, let him play and see his value rocket.
If they were mindful of playing dirty to Chelsea and the clause is as you say sell him for £24.9 m next season or the season after.

£10mil was just the 'double your money after two games' offer.

I read somewhere that Southampton arent flush with cash either so they are open to offers on players...probably not for £10mil but lets say for arguments sake, £15mil.

Either way, it was more about the idea behind it as its not something we would do...

Good player but don't see him DCL and Richarlison playing together.
Of course there is rotation but not at this level of investment for a team with our finances

Have a think about the players weve signed for £20mil who are now just squad players...so the finances of spending £25mil on someone good enough to improve our 11 makes sense...and provides depth as he can play multiple positions.

I think that Cunha has the profile of a starter -- him left, Richarlison at support striker or vice versa.

Weve been looking at left sided / support striker players if the rumours are true in McNeil and Correa.

According to atletico itk, Cunha is just a backup option in case they fail to sign Vlahovic...and bearing in mind that it looks unlikely that they will get vlahovic, Cunha will end up at atletico.

Fiorentina's president said Vlahovic is not for sale at any price the other day

Yeah I didn't mean one or the other, I just meant as in I'd rather keep James than him go to Atleti.

Cunha is a great player, really like the look of him.

Fits the Atletico Madrid profile of quality while hard working.

Its such a pity weve not come into this window with £100mil+ as theres so much value at the moment!

Chelsea inserted a buy-back clause in the Livramento sale. One of the reasons James took so long was us rejecting Real’s buy-back request. It was the same with Digne from Barca. It just seems to be a Brands red line.

Not that I think we were interested in the lad as Brands wanted Dumfries...Rafael not so keen.

The need for a RB is obvious but I think we are looking for one to share the load with Coleman and emerge as FT starter next season & that might put some players off.

We also need the manager & DoF to agree on someone rather than one or other having a dominant say.

The fact we are having to be very careful financially obviously does not help either.

Like it or not sometimes reality is more difficult than we as fans want to admit.

If we were able to sign someone for £5mil but there was a £25mil buy back clause id do the deal.

He would have been a success if it was triggered and we would have made £20mil / 4 times our money in profit on a full back.

Obviously we wont do this...

But what happens if we (or anyone else) throw in a £10mil offer to Southampton?

They double their money and lets say for arguments sake the player wants to join.

That £25mil clause wouldnt apply to the new club.

I'm not clued up on this but Chelsea will have extra terms like

First refusal on so we offer 10 million and they accept then Chelsea will be allowed to buy him back for 10 Mill or if they don't, they might even have a pectenage of next sale.

I cant believe this attitude.

Small club that happen to be the 4th most successful club in Britain.

I think you've been brow beaten one too many times by the Kopites mate.
But that is half the problem though Dave, Yes we are the 4th most successful club and one of the founding members of the league but for the best part of 20 odd years now we have done nothing but operate like a small time outfit from top to bottom. Even with Moshiri throwing money at things, other than BMD there has been no obvious plan with any of it. It stinks of small time and will continue to do so until major, major off field and on field changes happen.

Ndombele apparently 'liked' by our recruitment team per Boyland.

I think hes a very good player but needs the right manager to get him on track.
Very good player at Lyon but far from sure that he's cut out for the Prem.
Spurs got their fingers burnt but sadly can't see them letting him go cheap.
Not a player I'd take a punt on.

You say that but the fans would be fuming and calling the club for everything for agreeing to a deal. We are not that small of a club building other players up for the top 6. No chance. This is why he went for 5 million. He would cost around 20 million without the buy back clause. This deal suits Chelsea more

Are we even the fourth most successful anymore? Genuinely, how many trophies have Chelsea now won? And they have two European cups.
