The problem with flogging richarlison at this stage is that we’ll be a Calvert lewin injury from having very few goals in the side.

...id expect Gomes to want game time as well. I dont think he needs replacing in the squad either so it frees up all his wages.

He’s still our third best midfielder despite all his flaws. So yea, we definitely need a replacement. If not and he goes we’re going to get a healthy dose of Delph and Davies, and that’s a nightmare. We can all hope Gbamin turns into something good but we’re a crack in the sidewalk away from him going back to the treatment table, and we realistically don’t know if he’s any good even if he doesn’t get injured again.

If Benitez sticks to the 4231 formation then we will have the following competimg for 2 central midfield places:

Allan
Doucoure
Davies
Gbamin
Delph
Gomes
Onyango

I think if we sell Gomes and Delph then numbers wise they dont need replacing.

Next summer we could look to upgrade players but right now we would do well to trim their circa £200k a week wages from the squad.

If we then bring in Patterson and Jebbison for £10mil each we will have spent £90mil on 4 young high potential players with high upside.

However, if we sign Maximin and Zaha Im not sure if i could stomach watching them.

Unfortunately his interests (money) line up with the interests of a lot of elite footballers so avoiding him is really hard.

Both are RWs no? Or was Bailey on the right at Leverkusen? I can't remember. He's a good player. Antony is more meh for me.

That Jebbison link is hilarious. Scores against us because Godfrey says "nah I'm all set on marking today" and now we are going to pay eight figures. I almost guarantee there are better strikers for less money around.
