Incredibly hard to be remotely optimistic about Everton when you look at the latest news and there's credible links to Neal Maupay...

Just.... saddening at this point.

We always get linked with gash players. It's par for the course when we're a mid-table team. Thankfully, we can't spend so it won't happen unless we sell other players. If we sell Kean and Rodriguez to end up with maupay, then there's reason to be pessimistic. I doubt that scenario will happen though.

I`m sure the fact that at Real Madrid he is signing Mbappe whilst we sign superstars like Gray and Townsend whilst being liked with Rondon and Maupay didnt have anything to do with it AS WELL AS selling our best players in James and Richarlison.

I think he saw the meltdown coming, any manager of his calibre would have done the same....

Maupay is a decent player, but we need to be signing that type of player before he moves to the prem, not when we’d have to pay £30m+ for them. They’re not worth that. I’d like to think we’ve learned from Sigurdsson, Bolasie, Delph, Williams etc.

No other side in the Premier League top ten or so would even consider spending money on Neal Maupay. He's the definition of a limited footballer. He does loads of things OK, nothing great. Brighton is his level; there's nothing to suggest he'd do better in a better team.

Just... crap isn't it? The most confusing thing isn't that we have no money, but that we're apparently considering spending what money we have on... him.
