Everton Summer transfers 2021

5 year contract, 25M€ fee (max), so anything over 15M is a profit, plus 3-4M wages saved

So if we do a creative swap deal valuing both at £40m, we make a £25m profit. This is the kind of creative accounting needed. Unfortunately if we arnt interested in McKennie then I can see him going for a lot less. Probably similar to what we paid.

If we receive 25m for him does that mean we can spend 50m?

Not sure how this thing works.

Would appreciate it if a clever person could explain, please.
I'm not clever, but all it would be doing is reducing losses in our case. But (as above) 15M left on his book value, we sell him for 30M we get a profit of 15M + 3M wages saved. 18M better off this season...

We buy Dwight McNeil on a 5 year deal for 30M on 80k per week. That costs us 10M (6M fee + 4M wages) per year on the books for the next 5 years (or until he is offered a new contract.).

Therefore, we are 8M better off (18M-10M) in accounting terms this year, and 7M worse off the following year (10M for McNeil minus the wages saved for Kean).

Yeah but the following four years McKennie costs you about 13M per year... Dangerous game.

FFP changes though next season mate bare that in mind.

By all accounts it largely sounds like its a salary cap roughly 70% of turnover rather than the current system of book value/profit and loss etc.

Obviously the BMD naming rights deal from Usmanov will increase our turnover once that happens and BMD itself when its built. Add in many top earners like James, Tosun, Siggurdsson, Delph and then Kenny are out of contract next June book value will mean little it will be more about being sensible with wages.

But that’s the same fir every player you buy. And come next summer, we will probably sell. Or maybe we save money on the accounts, because tosun goes, 10mil saved. Delph, 7mil saved. Siggurdsson( obviously we don’t what’s going to happen there) but that’s 14mil saved
James. Take a guess 7mil saved. Roughly 35mil saved. By players out of contract.

Maybe Godfrey, Doucoure get new deals, which will get down there yearly costs.

That's the one thing we need to remember about this season if/when it goes tits up. Next summer the shackells will either be off, or loosened massively and perhaps we can sort ourselves out.

It's no secret the money we are spending on players who are regularly not involved is painful.

Just get through this season without committing suicide is a success.

Depending on length of the contract and the valuation of the players. Maybe in the long run it would be better (for Everton) if the valuation was little lower; Let’s say 30M each.
