Everton Summer transfers 2021

But It's like saying if Everton had a 20 goal season wide player we would have finished top 6.

If Brighton finish 16th its down to the manager/squad as a collective - not solely down to Maupay.
I thought you said if we finish bottom half this season it wouldn't be your boy Benitez's fault? Have you changed your mind (again)? Wouldn't he be part of the "collective" problem?

Why would it be his fault?

He would take a tiny proportion of the blame of course but as usual your desperation in pushing the #agenda against the Rafatollah is tiresome.

Smile we are playing well at present.

Not convinced about that mate. 6 goals in 25 league games for Benfica last season, was playing in second tier of Spanish football the season before.

Maupay is a great player - proper Everton player too with his desire and drive. Providing we didn't pay huge money (£25m+) i'd take him happily.
Messi's a great player, Maupay is decent not great.

If I’d said it last year I’d have been right wouldn’t I. If we’d finished above them last year we’d have been either 2nd or won the league. Proper small time that.
It's a safe statement that they will finish in the top 4 every year - my point was if you would have said that last year 99% of people would have agreed with you, yet if you would of explained how they would of got that 4th place and how close it was and were they where in the league at
I think they would sign Nuno Mendes from Sporting. If it was Digne then hes who we should sign.
I don't think Everton's board have a deathwish, Digne is settled and City have been sniffing around him for ages, without any bid forthcoming, honestly, I think teams like City unlike Everton test the water with the player before making a play - I think Digne is content and has enough loyalty to the club not to stiff us with a few days to go in the transfer market, particularly if as it seems more and more likely that we lose Richie to PSG.

So Brighton finishing bottom half is Potter's fault but if we finish bottom half it wouldn't be Benitez's fault. Got it. I'm the one with the agenda, right?

Well Potter has been at Brighton longer than 5 minutes, has been backed with more money and actually has a functional team.

When Benitez has all of the above then you can start to proportion him with half of the blame but until then sit back and admire his efforts of trying to turn water into wine.
