Oh theres a lot of poor decisions been made , but pure cash wise we are not in the ballpark here mate.
The only game in town if you want to be up there is spend & keep spending till you get it right.
Chelsea done it City done it and keep on doibg it.
Our top outlay is 40 mil on Sigurdsson , Chelsea just signed a "squad defender " for 43 mil.
Money wise we are nowhere near any of them.
Forget them; look at this in relation to us and us only.

We've seen more squad investment (gross/net whatever way you care to cut it), and we have plummeted as a club in terms of quality of player and football played.

Moshiri's reign has been a complete and utter failure on the pitch. To challenge that is unfathomable.

All three things in your first sentence are speculative.

I agree he won’t fit here, we won’t get the best out of him, how we p,so, but I think it’s damning that we can’t a tune out him, he’s a clear talent.

It’s not all about just clearing the decks and feeling better that someone isn’t in the squad there are real world consequences to deals like this, we posted a 140 mill loss last year, deals like this are urinating in the wind. With no progression on or off the field.

I don't think there's much speculation about him not wanting to be here. If we wanted him, we'd keep him and play him. I don't think there's too much debate about the fact that there's a big financial hole in the game currently? We aren't the only team struggling but we are admittedly worse off than most.

No idea what the loan fee will be, but we lose his wages this season and we'll book about a £15m accounting profit next summer. This is the sort of thing we need to be doing. In real terms we will get our money back.

And you knew right from the outset Kean was a bust did you ?
He probably isn't a bust but, clearly isn't keen on being here after all.

Much as I was against the signing of Delph, nobody can legislate for a crazy run of injuries.
Iwobi wasn't a Brands signing, Moshiri did that deal
Bernard came on a free with us agreeing to crazy wages - you think Brands agreed to those wages without the agreement of the owner ???
Gomes was great when he first arrived and was the GOT Player of the Season - a loss of form and the injury haven't helped him - and I honestly think Benitez will get more from him going forward than Ancelotti would have - time will tell if he's still here after Tuesday.

At the end of the day mate there are 2 possible scenarios to be drawn after his 3 years of Brands time at the club:

1. He has been ultimately responsible for all our signings (which he has had more misses than hits).

Or

2. He doesn't have full control - which if this was the case then I have zero respect for the bloke as he could have walked away with some dignity but is happy sitting in a comfy position on the board letting Moshiri take the blame for whenever he signs a dud and plays the victim of being hamstrung by a meddling clueless owner.

Either scenario doesn't exactly paint him out to be a success story at Everton and whilst I agree that he likely would have had a price in mind for Kean at the start of the window I dont believe other clubs couldn't have found a buyer for him - as you say he's got big potential just not going to work out in England.

So you’re telling me you wouldn’t have spent £27m on a young striker almost guaranteed to be a PL success? As you said you wouldn’t have.

I specifically said in that post I’d never seen him play. So no I wouldn’t have spent £27m on a player I’d never seen play.

Do you think Marcel Brands ever saw him play? I think we should sack him for making us much much worse.

Not spending £27m on a striker who you think is probably a guaranteed success in the PL? Yeh true you wouldn’t make a good DoF.

I'm not the one suggesting Brands is useless Catcher.
I expect we had a price in mind for the sale of Kean but, if nobody will pay it then to agree a loan with a commitment to buy at the end of that loan might be the best way forward.

I know mate, but I cant say hes covered himself in glory here. We seem to have caved in.

You can't question Moshiri for pumping the cash in.

You can question how that cash has been spent, both at his direction and at the direction of others.

It probably goes back to his Arsenal days. He knew how strong Dein was and didn't want that here. He wants to be the man making all the main decisions.

That's what he is, in fact: as well as being (co)owner he's a really really bad CEO with zero feel for the industry he's in.
I dont think he controlled it enough. I doubt it was his idea to purchase an over the hill Rooney and 15 other supporting No10s..which is when the trouble began. Managerial appointments have been a mess but possibly got it right this time.

Obviously I wouldn’t, what’s that got to do with anything though? I wouldn’t make a good film director either but I can still tell you a crap film when I see one.

I’m simply discussing you brazenly saying you wouldn’t have spent £27m on Kean, like you know better than a Director of Football, despite also at the time thinking he’d probably be a guaranteed PL success.

It’s okay to just accept the vaults. Here’s one from me in 2018 wanting Kean here.

Come back to me when we start buying 60-70 mil players on a regular basis then fail .( getting europe etc)

Again ...55mil net per year is not going to get us where we want to be.

Or do you have another solution.

I don’t think I know better than a director of football, I want a director of football here that knows better than Marcel Brands though.
