Video clips are all very well need to see a full 90 minute game. Bet we could get together clips of Iwobi which would make look like a WC player.

Watch a Betis match then?

He's quality...him or Aarons for RB.

For me he is too old we have young and upcoming CB's .

We have Godfrey and Branthwaite...if they play with Koulibaly you would hope it raises their game as well.

One thing is for sure, we cant go with Keane and Mina another season.

The Koulibaly stuff is a bit weird. We're pretty stocked for CB's now if you include Branthwaite and the fact that Gbamin can also play there in a pinch.
It’s more weird, you’re hanging our hopes on and 18yr old and a midfielder,
Thats played 2 games in nearly 2 season’s

UEFA FFP has nothing to do with Everton unless we get into Europe.

The Premier League have their own FFP model which, as it stands, hasn't changed.

FFP is just one small factor, relatively speaking. Even under the old UEFA model, it'd be likely if we broke it and were in Europe (like Wolves) we'd get a small smack on the wrist - like Wolves' squad was reduced from 25 to 21 for European competition.

The main issue is just running a club sustainably and sensibly. And that's not by spunking another £100m. We might do that in total, if we bring in £40-50m by selling Kean and Iwobi and Bernard, Tosun etc, and free up all those wages too, plus the likes of Walcott and Bolasie on top.

That's totally realistic and doable. But that's my entire point. We aren't going to be spending £100m and bringing in two players with that.
The Premmier league will follow suit and alter their rules. They will want money to filter down through the leagues

I think we will be trying to offload more than that, Bernard will go. I even think iwobi may go if we get a decent price. And Gomes, again it will depend on the price.

I know some will say, we won’t shift them and they maybe right. But I do think the club will be up for selling them if they could

Probably right, I think with those 3 it will depend on the offers made and if the players push for a move.

Probably not wise to spend €50m on an ageing centre back when we don’t have a right back, right winger, creative midfielder or competent goalkeeper.

I would imagine if we are prepared to get Koulibaly, it will be because FFP is either relaxed or abolished, and all of the above (with the exception of goalkeeper) will also be sorted.

If that’s the case then I still think addressing those areas where we literally don’t have players should be first on the priority list.

Just to play devils advocate, do you think the fan base, board, ownership or manager are really that interested in long term planning?
I think they need to be really. It's not about going back to the start of a new 5 year plan, but I would be very concerned if we signed another load of 28-30 year olds. It would very much be a case of putting all our eggs in one basket for me.
