Everton Summer transfers 2021

It's embarrassing that it's at least 3 years since it became clear that Coleman simply isn't good enough to be our first-choice right-back anymore and yet here we are, at the end of yet another transfer window, scrambling around trying to sign a player on loan who isn't even an actual right-back and by his own admission doesn't even like playing there. I'd call it incompetence but that doesn't even do it justice.
Maybe just maybe AMN is being brought in to play in midfield
If we take it Allan And Doucoure are 2 def starters then it’s a choice between Davies , Delph ,Gomes ,Iwobi , James and he who must not be named for the final place
While James is the obvious choice as he’s head and shoulders above everybody else in the list the FSW does not rate him so there is a spot up for grabs
Maybe Patterson or another target is being lined up to cover RB
I despise the FSW and would rather have FSA or Silva back but he is not thick enough to sign a RB who does not want to play there ( well I hope not )

According to Ornstein in The Athletic AMN said at the start of the season that he wants to play RB.
I find that surprising as he went on loan to WBA on the express understanding that he would play CM , which he did.

….and we have Gbamin.

It doesn't matter if we have 5 million or 50 million to spend in this window or any future windows. It's how we spend it that's important.

Whoever comes in today, we know they're not going to be the Lukaku type signing, but equally we should feel very satisfied that it's not going to be a signing like Siggurdson, Schneiderlin, Bolasie, Tosun, Walcott, Iwobi etc who we threw millions at and all were relatively average at best (although I saw a rumour with Daniel James which haunted my sleep last night).

Other than James, we haven't lost anyone from last year's squad. Added a couple of shrewd signings. Yes we're a bit short in certain positions and hopefully a few more clever signings will be enough. We still have quality in our side and teams won't be keen to come to goodison with the fans back in. #COYB

I pray that Gbamin makes it
However one full game midweek and he is not on the bench the following Saturday
Hopefully his fitness is being managed and he was not injured again
A midfield of Gbamin sitting , Allan destroying and Doucoure box to box will do in some games but there is very little craft and guile there that will be needed in a lot of games , that’s where I hope James gets a chance unless the intention is to bypass Centre midfield and just pump balls out wide and then into the box

If we pulled off a new right back I’d be happy with what we have. Another winger would be great if we move James on.

Right back is a position that needed to be addressed. I know we had issues down the right side and maybe they’ve tried to rectify this by bringing Townsend in but Coleman still needs a long term replacement, the lads injury problems last season were a big concern and Kenny just isn’t good enough.

If we can get the Arsenal lad in on loan with a potential permanent deal then happy days, for me will have been a decent window.

Isn't around £5m the record for a tribunal though, from the Elliott deal?

I'd hope for 7 figures at least, but might not be much more than 2m

£4.3m for Elliot, I think I read - Everton are hopeful of a similar sort of figure given he was/is the youngest player ever to feature in our first team and was playing U19 football for most of the season at the age of 16
