I appreciate that you couldn't sell for the prices of 2 years ago but beggars can't be choosers.

I think because of the losses clubs have experienced and the FFP, most clubs are going with low cost, low risk options for now. What we may see is a mad scramble in the January window as clubs in the relegation zone try to climb out of it, as some teams may be prepared to gamble more with the threat of relegation hanging over them.

Although I do think some players who are not wanted by their current club will have lined up moves, but their new club wont want to pay a fee, so once the window is over they will have their contract terminated with their current club by mutual consent and then sign a new contract with a new club. The current club gets a drain off the wages and they get to move on. I could see us doing that with someone like Delph.

Nothing. It's just a shame really. That's all. We had such big aspirations over the last few years and now we are scrambling for a potentially free agent striker that noone else wants and a last minute loan for a player that isn't good enough for a team that is similar to us. Just shows how far our aspirations have fallen this summer from previous years that people seem to be happy with that.

(I'm obviously hoping something comes out of the blue and puts all what I've just said in the bin).

We let him go last season and suffered on thr striking front. King was not good enough and I have doubts over rondon - if he does come. The sheff utd youngster sounded promising but that's gone all quiet

I agree with all that, but we are also savaging Brands for not making sales. This is an actual profit on a player who would definitely not have wanted to be here.
