I'm not generally a hothead or a bedwetter, but if the window closes and our RB options are Coleman and Kenny someone should lose their job.

I love Seamus and am glad he is part of the club, but he should not be our only league level functioning right back - especially when at this point he should ideally be our right back cover, not our starting right back.

Every year we are told there will be surprises on deadline day and every year the only surprise is that we have signed nobody
The surprise is that we continually fall for it ! Serious clubs take care of their business early. We obviously arent afraid to get a poor deal ( see Kean ).... we have some obvious OUTS ( Hamez / Kenny + a few others who could go ) and weve needed a RB for 3 years !!! I'm honestly shocked with Brands here .... Gray / Townsend ( + Rondon if he comes ) are all Benitez signings, Kean forced his move. Other than giving Bernard away and signing 2 back up keepers, I'm not sure what he does. Case in point : We have received almost the same amt of money from the Vlasic sell on fee to Wham than we got total for selling him to Russia !?Apologists will say you cant sell players no one wants ..... maybe we should do a better job and not buy them in the first place !

I'll be happy to be proven wrong tonight .... but we very rarely do anything positive of note on deadline day.

It suggests they either aren’t good enough, or aren’t ready for the PL.

With Gordon I am sure it is the latter, probably the same for Onyango.
There are plenty of other clubs in the same boat. They rely on young players sometimes to cover certain squad positions. Part of their development is being thrown into games. It happens all the time. They aren't premier standard players but they are still played when they have to. Everton don't do that. They play people out of position and have done for about 6 years now. We are sending young players out on loan when we do not have cover in the squad.

I think the differences the position we end up fighting in the league. We’re almost in the hardest position in the league. A fan base they expect us to qualify for Europe and do well, but a reality with the playing stuff that makes that difficult. Arsène Wenger himself said the cost of playing youngsters is less points. That’s what it boils down to. Play them by and blood them, but accept less points.
