Genuinely don't know where you are getting that from. I recall every start he had he looked quite good in. Sub appearences? Yeah, not as good. But he looked really good and showed a lot of promise when he was given a chance to start.

I’m getting that from my eyes. Couldn’t trap a bag of sand, always tried some dumb skill when it wasn’t necessary. Sometimes he looked good but most of the time a donkey. His best appearance was his debut sub appearance when he cracked the post.

Again, when he started I think he was player of the match voted here every time. The lad knew where the goal was even if he didn't score a ton. Almost all of his shots were on target too. I'm not saying he was better than DCL or even suited here but to say he was crap would be disingenuous.

our main striker is one of the hottest strikers in the league, prob has a valuation of 100 mil and barely gets injuries

our backup striker will therefore prob only get 10 + mins at end of matches in the league or will play in cup games against lower opp

we therefore don't need to spend a huge amount of money on a backup striker but worst case scenario DCL gets a bad injury or something we need someone who could potentially step in for a while and perform

the worst thing we could do is spend 30-40 mil on a backup striker who barely gets a game like we did for Kean

if you look at some of the best strikers in our division right now, the majority came from the lower levels i.e. vardy, wilson, bamford, abraham, watkins etc

peteborough have produced some of the best strikers in recent years, they sold 25 year old ivan toney to brentford for 10 mil + addons last summer, he has 77 goals in his last 3 seasons, brentford might get promoted this season but even if they don't no way brentford sell him for less than what they sold Watkins for to Villa last summer which was 30 mil

so why not get those type of players straight from the producer

clarke-harris has 27 goals so far in his debut season at peterborough, ivan toney's best season was 26 goals in comparison.

we also have richarlison and king who can play in that support striker role so we can afford that risk to see if he can be like the next vardy for us

i'd rather take the punt

So you think if DCL gets injured our hopes should rest on Jonson Clarke-Harris, a man that has a grand total of 9 goals at Championship level with the last one being in 2016.

It’s a matter of opinion and my opinion was that he looked naff for us. Even somehow looked invisible against Fleetwood Town.

yes, he's one of the hottest strikers around at the moment, could be the next vardy

Vardy was a 25-year old £1m punt for Leicester in the Championship.

Paul Mullin has 25 goals in League Two why don’t we throw a few mill at Cambridge whilst we’re at it. Dream strike duo.

That’s a lot of excuses for not looking very good in an Everton shirt.

He had 31 Premier League appearances over 2 seasons but played only 847 mins and got 2 goals and 2 assists - aged 19. So he hardly started any games so mainly came on to chase a game.

Compared to DCL (17/18)
32 appearances / 1873 mins : 2 goals & 7 assists - aged 19

I think if you gave Kean another 1000 mins in our first team, he would better DCL stats.

So yeah circumstances or excuses, just like how he is scoring more at PSG at the highest level.
