He carries it well fair, but he struggles against pressure and I'm struggling to remember any examples of the passing range which isn't necessarily a thing I'm arsed about anyway.

This is what I mean though, I'll see these posts for years to come. It was the same with Holgate who has also always been pretty questionable on the ball but was talked about like he was a step away from Beckenbauer until probably this season.

And also if there is one thing I do think he does well it is block shots. What he needs to do is stop the guy from shooting it to begin with. You can't live off of last ditch interventions.

Not comfortable with the ball and blocking shots is his strength? I wholeheartedly agree with the notion that he has some improving to do but this shout is pretty much the exact opposite of what is true.

I'm not doing the on the ball thing. People are weird with that. But the other part.

His speed and overall athleticism is the big one for me but I think he carries and passes the ball very well. As you say, his passing suffers when he’s under pressure but I think that’s a big failing of our team in general, not the individual.

I honestly think getting out to block shots (especially given he’s quick enough to eat up a lot of ground in a short time) is his main weakness. I remember thinking he must have had a roasting after Burnley because he came flying out to shut down a couple of shots against City; that is at least a glimpse that he’ll take these criticisms on board and get better.

I think he's maybe average. I think he's crap with the ball at his feet which I'm sure people will be telling me isn't true until about 2026.
