Im honestly just sick of having to defend some of our players, it doesn't mean I think the rest are bad, its just that I'm tired of reading how bad they are.Honestly that's fine.

It would be nice if I could defend someone for filling a specific role that we need in the team but I find myself guessing the system weekly so it is hard to do that.Im honestly just sick of having to defend some of our players, it doesn't mean I think the rest are bad, its just that I'm tired of reading how bad they are.
I mean sure people do it with the players I named as well, but I consider their upsides worth the eye aids.
To be fair it's not like King has played a full match in those 8 appearances.Looking at our squad tonight if veryone was fit:
Pickford > Olsen
Allan > Gomes
Doucoure > Davies
We know right back is a position for improvement and we have been linked already.
One of our biggest issues has been our lack of options offensively from the bench:
Iwobi - (25 app - 1 goal/2 assists
King - (8 app)
Bernard (9 app - 1 goal)
We need a out and out winger. We need to push defences back and gives us a Plan B
We are still light on central midfield with a lot of football in a season but we have very limited players who make any contribution other than James and Sigurdsson and honestly we could do with some more pace
There is very little chance we find someone who isn't at least a little bit of a patchy goal scorer because about 6 guys exist who aren't in the entire world at the minuteWe have 3 goal scorers, all of whom are patchy in their scoring.
Essentially, we need to find the reincarnation of 95/96 Kanchelskis for around 25 million.
Not playing a full match is a bigger indictment. He was brought in January as reinforcement, and clearly hasn't shown anything in training for two months now to be even more effective than Lil Bernard. To be fair it's not like King has played a full match in those 8 appearances.
I don't think Carlo is going to slot King in the top eleven without bedding him in first. Not playing a full match is a bigger indictment. He was brought in January as reinforcement, and clearly hasn't shown anything in training for two months now to be even more effective than Lil Bernard.
This may be an emotional reaction in the immediate aftermath of watching Palace out-work us all over the park, but I remain firmly convinced that we need two new CMs this summer. Both need to be pacy, comfortable on the ball, in the 23 - 26 age brackets and one of them needs to be an elite-level performer who is undeniably our best CM. This would leave us with a midfield made up of:
Allan
Davies
Doucoure
Gbamin (but I can easily see a scenario where he goes out on loan to Germany or France next season)
2 x new faces
Sell Delph and Bernard as urgent priorities, £5m each would be fine because they will both have one year left on their contracts. I'd try to loan Gomes out to Italy, Spain or Portugal if we can find a club to cover his wages, but obviously sell him if someone shows interest. I'd also listen to all offers for Tosun and Kenny (both will have one year left on their contracts in June 2021) and try to cash in on Kean.
We're obviously going to bring in a RB. The extent to which we continue to clear out dead wood and wage thieves will determine how many other areas of need we can address: in an ideal world we bring in a new LM/LW and a new RM/RW but if we HAVE to get a starting RB and a starting CM as an absolute bare minimum.
I actually think Allan and Doucoure, when they have played, have been fine. If Allan didn't get that injury (against the RS?) I suspect he'd be our player of the season - he was excellent in our opening run of games.
If Allan and Doucoure are the second and third best players in our starting three-man midfield, we're fine. We just need to sign an absolute baller to be the #1 guy, and then see who rises to the challenge of edging Allan out of the starting three over the following 18 months - Davies and Gbamin are still young, so get a third young, pacy player in and create real competition for places.
Yes, I agree. The problem with that is the likely fees: you'd be looking to bring in two players in their prime (23 to 26 years old, starting eleven Premier league standard) and we already need to shift several wage thieves to create payroll space.
Factor in the situation at RB (we have to bring in a starting RB) and we'd need to find buyers for Delph, Bernard, Gomes and possibly Gylfi too. And that presumes we sell Kean for a decent chunk in the first place.
Danny Welbz anyone?
