In the past, Brands has wanted a working 23 man squad:
3 goalkeepers
8 defenders
6 midfielders
6 forwards.

We have a current working squad of 23 players but it consists of player such as
Nkounkou - Prospect
Gbamin - back from long term injury
Delph - BURN IN HELL
Bernard - Highly Paid Meh
King - Meh on Loan

All of whom have very limited appearances but make up positions in our squad.

We also have players out on loan like:
Kenny - Transfer out
Gordon - Highly rated
Branthwaite - Highly rated
Baningime - Time to move on
Kean - Bound for bigger things
Tosun - Turkish Loan Whore
Simms - Highly Rated

So we could look at getting rid of 6/7 players from the current first team squad as well as addressing right back, right wing and forward positions.

Thats 13 players to go and ive probably missed a few there.

Over half a squad...imagine the wages :o

It ended up 53 to 47. But still palace having more possession is embarrassing.

But apparently Davies had a great game, controlled the tempo lol. Gomes was great until he went off. And I’m sure Icelandic statto is creaming his pants over siggurdsson performance.

If we had to rely on them 3 all next season we would get relegated. They offer nothing from an attacking point of view. Apart from the odd decent set piece from siggurdsson. Are slow, weak and defensive liabilities.

Can’t wait for next Monday and seeing Brighton having 70% possession.
 

We need a right back that coleman was 7 years ago bare minimum, a couple of midfielders that have energy, pace and can shoot/pass the ball incisively, a right forward (preferably a. Wide forward who can play on either side) who is rapid, doesn’t waste the ball & enjoys assisting more than scoring and an under 21 cf who can play across the line doesn’t sulk because he only gets piecemeal opportunities.

... and a goalie.

Obviously the end of contracts. Walcott, Bolasie, besic and a few under 23’s. That’s probably 15mil edit:- maybe more like 12mil thinking about it. But still a lot of money saved in wages over a year right there.


I think one of Mina & Keane will still be here. As will one of the midfielders. Most likely siggurdsson, Witt the talk of extending his deal by a year. Adds 4.5 into the coffers straight away. Which is a 90k a week salary

not sure what are funds are going to be this summer but we've been linked with rabiot and koulibaly quite heavily which suggests carlo wants another centre half and a central midfielder

i think in order of priority we need:-

right back to replace coleman
box to box midfielder
right winger
backup striker
backup goalkeeper

after last night id like to see a challenging striker to put pressure on the 2 lads to up their game . Enough chances to win 2 games between them last night

CB will be interesting if he goes down that route. We’ve had some great defensive displays, but usually in a low block and 10 behind the ball. When we try and force the play, we definitely look venerable.

While we definitely need a couple of new attackers. As we have nobody near the level of DCL or Richarlison to call on , if they aren’t performing. To replace them fir a few games or at least put them under pressure. I just can’t see ancelotti playing a new RW, Richarlison left DCL central and James behind them.

Maybe he builds a team without James. And if he’s available, he works him into the team

he needs a second james

which is why i really want grealish but i know it won't happen

Those 4 players should be the minimum this summer. Then we could get rid of Davies and Siggurdson, and move Coleman to back up. Holgate could go into the middle and with Branthwaite back we could have Godfrey Mina as first choice with Holgate BranthwIte covering and move Keane out the club.

If there’s any more money left a new keeper and another wide player.

Belotti 12 months left on his deal

Go get one of them on a cut price deal
