Everton Summer transfers 2021

Also when we do start spending our WARCHEST I want a bunch of players I have never heard of. That's well the best way to do it instead of signing people everybody knows and having to read the tedious punditry of people who have seen said player twice a season against us.

James Maddison is only one month older than Buendia but has probably three seasons already in the Premiership
His talent was obvious at a much younger age.

Every player moving from a lower standard league to a higher is a risk but there are factors like age, height and physical athleticism which increases the chance of a player succeeding.

I think Norwich would sell Buendia and Aarons this summer....£60mil / £70mil or whatever it may be.

Rather than then selling those players at the end of the next season (and possibly doing so after being relegated) they would do so from a position of strength.

Additionally, they can use the money and sign 4 young players with it. Thats with the view of selling those for for £25-30mil each in a seasons time.

Rather than waiting a season for the £60-70mil they would be aiming for £100-120mil next summer.
Its a tough one. Look at the clubs who have previously came up, spent a bucket load and been hopeless. Its hard to find decent players to come into a newly promoted side and all gel straightaway.. youre taking the supply line away from Pukki and i think thatll make a bigger difference than padding out the team with journeymen to play in Prem.
Id have thought he's looking at his team and has it built around Buendia, his hands may be tied though and the top brass might see the pound signs and think like yourself it may be a bigger risk waiting another season.

He also only cost £20m which is half of what reports are valuing Buendia at. For £40m i'd like to think there are better players out there than someone who's doing well in the Championship.

Neither would I however this notion that Wilf is dirge is hilarious he would waltz into our side - Eze is the new flavour of the month but here's the thing how many goals and assists does he have compared to Wilf?

Too many on here get attracted to style over substance - we have too many of those types who can look good on the ball but rack up little goals/assists.

Can’t believe you’re still throwing Zaha’s name about. His chance to leave Palace was 2 years ago and he decided to sign a massive new contract. He’s quite clearly there for the rest of his career.

£70m combined for two players from the championship is outrageous and would mean that we'd probably break the transfer record for that division for a single player too.

The logic doesn't make sense for why they'd sell either, they'll not be thinking 'let's sell our best two players now before we get relegated'. As I mentioned earlier, if anyone could point me towards a case of a promoted team selling their two best players.

For £70m i'd be expecting better players than Aarons and Buendia.

Not saying we shouldn’t sign Buendia but 1. ‘Top class championship player’ is a bit of an oxymoron and 2. Dropping £40m on a player who has never produced at the highest level is absolutely not, in any way shape or form, ‘low risk’.
He would have been our best creative player last season. Not saying that's a high bar, but I also don't think "never produced" is fair either.

Not sure, i watched Maddison struggle up here for Aberdeen, and not a single don wouldve believed he wouldve developed so much within 12 months of going back to Norwich. His final season for them he was top class.

Oh you were using those figures as evidence of him producing? Producing one goal? Right you are. Carry on then.
There are obviously ways to be an effective player without scoring goals. Honestly if he's going to score more than 5 a season that's just a bonus on top of the other stuff he definitely gives the team.
