He has 1 goal and 0 assists from open play. Ward-Prowse is literally Sigurdsson with more tackles and sideways passing instead of just not getting involved.
omg youre one of those are ya?? ok so how much do they count??? do they count as 1??? do open play goals count for more??? no a goal is a goal

Mobile, can pass, press, get up an down, contribute goals and assists, contribute defensively, mobile, experienced in the league. great set pieces. its fairly obvious what we lack and he does a lot of that stuff really well.
He's an average player 90% of the time who comes alive if you give him every set piece. If you want that it's fine but we've done that exact thing before and it was Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Jwp is way underrated he plays a deeper more conventional cm role than someone like grealish (who is way better) he's a more balanced but he's still managed to get 7 goals an 5 assists this season. Compare him to Doucs for us who plays a similar role. Doucs has been quality but he's got nowhere near the output of Jwp
Take out set pieces abs where wouid he be. The lad takes pens, every free kick on the edge of the box and every corner amd free kick from wide. He also drifts into wide areas in open play to get crosses, there’s no denying the lad has a great right foot for set pieces.

But if you look at the rest of his game, I bet the stats make him look pretty average

Bissouma being well overrated at this point. He's good but even being mentioned with those names is too much. Which means he's exactly the player we will pay 15m too much for.
I disagree mate. He'll probably sell for £25-£30m. No way is he going for anything north of £35m and if he goes at that price it's his top end but still a fair value.

He's been phenomenal for us the last few seasons and deserves a shot at glory with a bigger club. You're up against Man U and Arsenal for his signature and to be honest, I think Man U are more after a marquee signing with Bale or Grealish than actually spending where they need to strengthen. So it comes down to whether he wants a better chance of success with Everton or more money at Arsenal, let's face it that's where both clubs are at, at the moment.

By all accounts, he's a big player both on the pitch and the dressing room if that makes sense. One of those who other players can feel inspired by: bags of skill, steadying presence, can score a worldy, willing to die for his team-mates.

I reckon Bissouma is EXACTLY the player you Toffees should go for.

At 20m to 25m I could probably be convinced so long as we have a plan for what we want him to do. But I said that thinking he'd go for 40m+ and although I like him I don't like him like that.

I'd agree, £40m is way overvalued. Fair enough Man U and Arsenal paying that but Everton would be on a slippery slope paying silly money for him. What about £30m? Would you be happy at that price?

I'd be nervous. But if he's solid for us I'd probably not be bothered. He's young enough. We just have to be careful because we really aren't able to spend unlimited amounts.

Im just not that impressed.
Yes he can take a good set piece, and is neat and tidy. But he doesn’t run games, like Grealish. Who’s on another level to jwp.

I knew
You would mention Grealish, who’s only played 90 games in the prem. and 20 of them as a teenager. He’s spent 3 seasons in the championship. Jwp has played 260 games all prem. Grealish had a lot of
Faults as youngsters, but he’s been fantastic the last 2 yrs, really gone to another level, While Jwp has improved,
But only slightly over the years.

We never really know what goes on behind the scenes at clubs, but had anyone offered 40mil for jwp over the last couple of years and this summer, he’s gone. I reckon villa wouid have turned that money down 2yrs ago. And Grealish would cost at least double now.

I just don’t see how jwp improves our midfield enough to kick us on, he’s better than Gomes & Davies, delph. And is even a better passer than Doucoure. But if you’re going to sacrifice a bit of Energy/power/pace/aggression, in midfield for a technical player, than I want someone a lot better than him.

If you play in the current Saints midfield you have to be able to press, run and tackle - to say JWP is another Siggurdsson because he doesnt skip past players at lightening pace and is good at set pieces is a lazy comparison imo.

Him and Doucoure (who many hipsters slated as being crap on here when he was at Watford) would be first names on the team sheet in terms of the midfield.

Doucoure is still not good and he and Ward-Prowse as a midfield would be on good form easily worse than at least 8 midfields and maybe more

Really? They are one of the worst teams in the league in my opinion and they have Oriol Romeu who plays in midfield who is one of the slowest players I've ever seen.

Think we need two centre midfielders in the summer, an anchor and a ball carrier. Bissouma would be great as the sitting midfielder, but I'd expect a bigger fish to be in for him. I have no suggestions for the ball carrier but I really don't think Ward-Prowse would be the right fit.
