The game is generally lacking top TOP quality centre backs at the moment across the board. I think Mina and Godfrey is a sound partnership if both stay fit and Keane is an able deputy/rotation option without being spectacular. Holgate not great and destined for Watford though.

Leicester have lost 2 of the 22 games he's started this season. Lost 7 of the 16 he's not played. He walks into our defence.

City spending 50m on a Stones level player is fine. Everton doing it is not.

Yes I think thats absolutely fair enough, though a slightly different point. Would Everton spending 50m on a VVD fine?

I’d sell Keane, bring whoever is better between Branthwaite and Gibson back in (or both). Go with Godfrey Holgate Mina plus those two as the centrebacks. Use the Keane money somewhere else.

Don't think we need to touch the CB's unless a team makes a good offer for one of them. Much bigger priorities to sort out.

Plus if we were to sell a CB - alongside Godfrey - Keane would be one I wouldn't even consider letting go.

That would be a risk. Neither PL ready I think.

I don’t think we will touch them. I think Carlo rates Keane as well, and I’m not going to argue with his view on a player, but for me I think he holds us back massively, he can’t play in a three, he means we sit deep, he’s error prone, poor on the ball. I just think he’s extremely average. Holgate and Godfrey make errors as well but at least they have a bit of pace about them to let us play a higher line. As soon as we’ve stopped playing the 4CBs along the back Keane has been exposed in nearly every game.

If we're getting the best player in the world at his position obviously yes. Not every PL player we could sign is that. Aarons for example. I know he'll be less than that.

They won yesterday and he also got lost on the goal they conceded. So he still gets credit?

But you don't know that before you sign them do you?
