Everton Summer transfers 2021

Christ almighty why would we go back for Zaha? Look at the reports today, we're back in for Zaha for the third year in a row who's off the back of another average season. Arsenal and Villa are in for Buendia, a younger, better and cheaper player. I think Brands has done an alright job but my god he has a real issue of not being able to move on from targets that rejected us. Needed a CB when Zouma ended his loan, spent all summer after him and didn't get anyone and suffered, needed a winger the last 2 years, chased Zaha for stupid money and still didn't get him and ended up with Iwobi who has 1 goal with us. Make a list if 1 rejects go to number 2, if 2 rejects go to 3 etc.

Also quite frankly Zaha coming to us now would be mad for him and us. For him he'd be coming to a club in shambles needing a massive rebuild for any hint of success and why leave Palace who seem comfortable and he'd be a legend. For us he'd become probably our top earner and still take a massive fee despite being totally average and 29 in November on probably a 4 year deal. What a nonsense piece of business that'd be.

Why would they sell him for £40m? Relegation would cost them £100m at least and they have a number of players out of contract. They won't sell him for less than £65m minimum. If they're lucky Spurs might spunk a lot of their Harry Kane money on him.
I fancy Palace to drop next season. Roy gone, old squad, high turnover of players very possible. It has Curbishley/Charlton written all over it.

The Spurs link is strange. They have an abundance of wide forwards already. It's a centre forward they need if Kane goes. Besides, they don't even have a manager so it's really just wild speculation

All dependant on who their next manager is really

I would say that we are at our most precarious since our first season back up (13/14). All for the reasons you state. Yes Not all the out of contract players will go and the rebuild will take 2-3 seasons. It is an opportunity for someone if they are backed financially.

At the type of prices being mentioned here, I would swerve Zaha so hard that I'd get whiplash and veer into the North Sea. Given his age and the fact he's a pace-reliant player we shouldn't be looking at him at all. We should be concentrating on 21 to 25 year olds for the positions where we place a premium on pace.

If we're spending £40m+ on a Prem player, it should be Grealish - admittedly not like-for-like in terms of playing position, but far better value for money.

Let’s not be silly. Grealish won’t sign

Ignoring selling Zaha, what are the realistic chances of Parish doing that? Not being cheeky, honest interest.

He will spend the minimum he feels we need to avoid the drop. Nothing more. That might be anything between £25m - £50m depending if any of the out of contract players we want to keep, stay.
All the dough is going into the academy. Our U23’s have been promoted to the top PL Division for next season. Youth is the future.
