Everton Summer transfers 2021

Was this actually a thing or just something our fans joked about?
We did business early for 2005 and 2006. Simon Davies was in the door at the end of May and I'm sure Lescott was wrapped up in June. After those two seasons we tended to do last week of the window from recollection.

Does anyone find it frustrating that other clubs are making moves for their targets now to have them ready to join after the Euros and every season we complete our transfers quite late.....
Can’t see us leaving it late this window.

I think targets are lined up, but now Carlo has seen how gash we really are, he will be wanting even more players than we thought.

Anyone been looking at the relegated teams and been impressed with any of their players and think they could do a job here?
Fulham seem to have a fair few players on loan who may want to stay in the league who we could either loan or buy.

Areola (GK - PSG), Andersen (CB - Lyon), Aina (RB - Torino) - I personally haven't watched enough of Fulham to make comment, but does anyone rate these guys and could see them at EFC?

WBA - only 2 players I'd consider
Diangana (LW), Pereira (RW)

Sheff Utd
Berge (DM)

Less so Diangana, but definitely would like to see Pereira and Berge (even if he’s been injured).

The ‘issue’ with buying from relegated teams is that unlike how ever many years ago, they don’t go for a reduced price, if anything they retain or even go up in price as teams become determined to keep them no matter what. Pereira will probably cost 25as an absolute minimum. Berge even more considering the price they paid for him in the first place.

(this will go down like a lead balloon because he’s been woeful this last season but I’m sure Lundstrum is out of contract...bring a blue home)

Andersen was good but I'm not sure he's better than we currently have. Areola would be decent cover but i'm sure he's looking to be a number 1 and Aina I have no idea.

Diangana signed for big money and flopped. For the second time today in this thread, he's a player who's only goal last season was against us.

Berge and Pereira would be two good signings if the price was right.

I think Andersen would be a good option. Areola also did well, but if he's better than Pickford, it probably isn't by much.

I'd definitely consider Pereira. He has to be the standout candidate.

Forgot all about Berge. I take it he's had a bad injury?

If I'm not mistaken you are referring to Loftus-Cheek not Hudson-Odoi.
Easy mistake to make with these posh double barrelled surnames.
These lads must be nearly 40 by now seem to have been around forever but yes I got mixed up lol

Didn't Brands say in an interview they usually start the process around February time in a caldendar year?

We also can "do what Liverpool just did" if you want to go fork out a release clause in one go.

Yet Carlo and Silva when asked about it have both said 'we sit down at the end of the season'.

I'm sure the process does start earlier than that, we just never see any evidence that it definitely does. The one exception to that, in fairness, is with Gabriel, and that deal was all but done until COVID happened.

It'd be nice to think we could have a signing in before the Euros starts, but we'll see.

This is a club that paid £28m for Iwobi.

"We never see any evidence"

*gives evidence*
