....don’t think I’d be in a hurry to swap Godfrey for Gabriel, it‘s funny how these things work out.

I think there’s general agreement in priority signings (RB; effective wingers; ball carrying, athletic & creative CM; back up striker). I wouldn’t want to be splashing out a large chunk of the transfer envelope on a RB, the bigger money is usually spent on the creative/goalscoring type because their skill set is superior.
When you are reliant on the full backs to create and in the modern game they are, they're starting to cost serious money now. They'll never be at the level of strikers or tens but a good full back costs good money these days.

If we had gotten Gabriel for the left and had Godfrey as the right sided centre back then we'd be well placed now.

If Arteta doesnt fancy him then id be happy to give them their money back!

Also, i think we should spend most of our money on RB, CB and DM as thats the foundation of the team sorted.

I don’t think we should sign a single other Arsenal reject for as long as we’re an active football club.

Gabriel is lacking pace. I’m not sure he’s any better than Mina. I’m glad we got Godfrey instead of him last summer.

Hes been one of their top 3 players with Saka and Tierney.

Arteta doesnt seem to think so though...

Hes pretty damn quick imo...not as fast as Godfrey but as quick as Zouma.

....I know you’re very keen on a CB but I’d be surprised if one is on our shopping list unless one of the frontline defenders leave (Keane or Mina). I can’t see Keane leaving but I suppose there could be a chance Mina leaves.

Absolute priority for me is genuine pace, quality and threat in wide positions. We’re impotent at home because we can’t take the game to the opposition. I think Digne becomes so effective with a proper attacker ahead of him. If we can get the full back/winger partnership right we’ll be more effective.

Should splash out and get Lukaku back (if he'd come) we would atleast have a top striker then.
I'd love for him to make a triumphant return but I think that notion is impossible. His ambition and ego wouldn't allow it. Even when he was here just incessantly made rumblings about playing elsewhere. The Moshiri weird voodoo comments probably don't help either

Arsenal would never sell him to us in case it worked out, they will happily sell us a Callum Chambers or a Maitlind Niles for inflated prices.
IMO Gabriel would still be a good bit of business for us, young fast and left footed, brings better shape to the defense if playing out from the back.
