I think we’ll see a fair few outs this summer, and as long as it’s not Digne, Godfrey or DCL I don’t think we should care really. Fully expect James, Richarlison, Mina and possibly Allan to agitate for a move, and I don’t want anyone who doesn’t want to be here.
Get us young hungry players with something to prove and good attitudes. Not the likes of Zaha or any cast offs from clubs above us. Get a manager who follows the same philosophy as Brands, and don’t let anyone else stick their noses in.
Yep, James will leave. He probably won't even return for pre-season and whilst it's a shame because he's genuinely class the guys legs are made out of Jenga and any new manager is unlikely to let him manage himself in the same way Carlo did.
Richarlison? who knows what happens there. He'll probably push for a move now but someone has to pay what we want and he hardly shone last season. He falls in that category for me where I'd love him to stay but he's not irreplaceable. It'll all depend on who the new manager is.
Mina? I think he may have been sold anyway and again like James he's great but can't be relied upon so maybe now's the right time to sell, make a profit and move on.
I think Allan will stay unless Carlo pushes for him to join Madrid maybe. I'll be honest as good as he has looked in patches if we can make our money back on him i'd sell. Hasn't looked the same since the injury and at 30 he's only going to get slower.
The only outfield players i wouldn't want to lose are Godfrey, Digne and Dom.... Doucoure too maybe as i think he's done well.
Everton has to find a way to turn this unexpected negative into a positive, that's what the likes of Leicester do and if it means using this as a hard reset of the 'project' then so be it because everything up to now hasn't worked.
Like you say, young hungry players and developing an ethos maybe not with an eye on finishing in Europe next season but being able to compete for Europe regularly for many seasons after.
In a weird way this could be exactly what the club need.
