There’s no way that Marcelo story is true. He would demand a huge wage that I don’t think we would pay considering he won’t play.
I wouldn't be so sure, a big wage but little or no fee.
He would bring huge experience and a winning mentality.

We have seen at Chelsea the importance of the Thiago Silva signing

As long as the other signings are of young players.

I have just seen a list of the players signed at a young age by NES and it is impressive.
A couple of duds but generally very good including Dedonker, October, ,Neves,Neto ,Jots and Traore, all signed at about 21/22 years old.

I think it would be just like us to sign a player who is injured, we signed Gomes and Mina when they were just coming back from injury.
Can an injured player pass a medical? May cost like £35m. I wouldn’t mind a couple of Wolves players (sign one or two).

….we so need a goal scoring contribution from our attacking wide players, it’s such a much needed requirement. It’s perfectly reasonable to look at an attacking players goal ratio.

To say scoring goals ‘isn’t their job’ is simply incorrect, it’s a vital part of their game.
I do think he has a point though Egg's.
We want goals from all round the team but if signing a player who is defensive midfield primarily then looking for his goals input is a lesser issue.
Even City who spread goals around better than anyone have a couple of players who rarely score.

….worth adding that Iwobi has a superior goal ratio than Traore.

Surely we can spend our monies on a pacy player with genuine goal and creativity threat.
Traore is a strange one. Whenever we play Wolves I always worry about his pace even though he has zero end product. But he causes panic and takes multiple players out of position.

I get the point about Iwobi but I can imagine any teams we play ever worry about him.

…I’m not supporting Iwobi, I’m just highlighting his goal record is superior to Traore.

People cant see beyond their own noses. Its not necessarily what Traore can offer in terms of goals/assists its what he can offer in terms of opening teams up / creating space for team mates to exploit / relieving pressure by bombing forward and getting us up the field.

Wouldnt be my first choice and wouldn't spend a penny over £30 million either but if his contract runs down to his final 12-18 months and he doesn't renew I would take him for the squad.
Word for word my thoughts - wouldn’t be my no. 1 choice but not getting all the hate for him.

Would be nice to have someone in the team who got us off the edge of our seats when they get the ball at their feet.

…absolutely, but Traore is an attacking player. Sterling & Mahrez contribute plenty of goals.

Fastback to ‘85, Reid & Bracewell hardly crossed the half-way line but look at the goal/assist contribution of Steven & Sheedy. 1970, Morrisey & Husband contributed from wide positions. It’s a recipe for success in top teams & what we should aspire to.

You’ve literally never seen him play.

Oh, but i have...lets see if you have...

We both know you dont watch these players... lol

He’s a talented boy; can do a bit of everything and surprisingly quick. Scored a last minute winner against Benfica with a great run. £20m sounds a lot but at the same time everyone is around that these days.

So, like i said...Tom Davies lol

Proper number 8. He was only bit part this season as Amorim had a very settled midfield duo of Joao Mario & Palhinha. Was always one of the first subs on though. Played a lot more end of last season after the restart (Joao Mario wasn’t there then). I like him; lots of good players in that Sporting squad. Kinda hope they don’t sell anyone though.

Youve just copied what ive written + checked his stats and watched a youtube clip.

lol

We aren’t going for any of them. We haven’t even announced the new manager yet. It’s lazy “they’re Portuguese” journalism.

You dont even know hes Brazilian.

lol

Why do it to yourself...meet people in the real world instead of constant insults on here and lying.

You seem very lonely...

Looks like he has a bit about him. Nice close ball control and a bit of pace to drive past players.

Not really mate...very average player.

Cant even get past Joao Mario.

Watch the two i mentioned earlier...they will get big moves.

Looks like a more mobile version of Gomes.

Falls over more and has a Tom Davies touch half the time.
