Ive not said out of players in the entire world id sign Palhinha or Goncalves.

Ive said theyre the two standout players in midfield...they walk into our team.

Not sure why you used the word "yet" here ?

Nunes is not a starter for Sporting. Needs a season somewhere as a starter...by which time hes 24...hardly a kid.

The other two start every game.

23 in august...needs a season as a starter (as i posted yesterday). Wont get in sportings team unless they make sales.

Joao Mario starts for them ahead of Nunes. That gives you an idea how far off he is.

just 1 example, look at Neto at Wolves, I dont think he had played 20 senior football games. They took the gamble because he had some raw attributed that could really push him on to shine.

Neto was signed at 19 wasnt he?...this guy will be 23 in august. Thats a massive gamble at €20mil...if it was €8-10mil on two players like this in the hope one worked out...ok.

But this is a stretch.

He'd even be challenging Doucoure & Allan for a start.

Dont see any negatives here especially for €18 = £ 15 mil.

Youre comparing the standout defensive midfielder in Portugal in Palhinha...

...to a 22 year old squad player.


Palhinha as you say is soon 26 in July. Hes a starter at Sporting and walks into the Everton team. Hes a very good player.

Nunes is soon 23 and a squad player. No way near ready to be a consistent starter in the premier league for a team going top 6.

He needs one more season in Portugal where he is a starter (doubtful at sporting) or a move to a team who will play and develop him for a season.

Newcastle wanted him on loan with a £10mil option to buy.

That was fair.

Ages are different for different positions. Central midfielders are much older when the peak they tend to take longer to learn the position, wingers and attackers much younger.

22 for a centre mid is no age at all.
 
Everton Fans are brilliant. Moan when we look at 'proven' PL players and say they want some young up and coming South American.

Everton look to sign said up and coming South American before they breakout and cost upwards of 50 million. Everton fans shock horror are moaning as theyve never heard of him and needs another season somewhere to prove himself.....

Anyone else smell the irony of this thread
