Everton Supporter heartlands

It goes back further than that. Everton's founding fathers were largely Liberal local politicians and thus pro-home rule for the Irish. John Houlding was an Orangeman and many of the Liverpool FC hierarchy were Tory and this anti-home rule for the Irish. This will have made any Catholics more likely to support Everton and less likely to support the other lot.

Interesting that! Glad it never stuck. Would hate to have religion or politics involved in my football club. Like all those Celtic and Rangers fans who have their political ideologies decided for them because they support that football side.

Brought up L18, now live CH49. No RS round these parts except when they come out from under their rocks in the hills to watch the game in the pub. Then again if I was to move to Bergen...

WA3

& there are loads of us here. I personally know of 15 season tickets on this estate alone, and it's not a big estate either.
I grew up in WA3 (cue lots of wool accusations). Plenty of blues in Warrington but my parents (One from Knotty Ash the other from Old Swan) chose to live between Warrington and the wasteland that is Manchester. Even made me go to grammar school there....had to keep my allegiance mostly to myself but couldn't resist letting it slip when a Joe Royle goal knocked Man Utd out of the cup at OT. Got my head kicked in the following Monday. Now live miles away in OX27

The Esk's great great grand parents (all 16 of them) were Irish Catholics, then his Great Grand Father via Scotland became an Everton player.
