Our defensed needs to be coached its that simple, Baines, Coleman, Jags were part of one of the best defensive PL recod keepers for years. Throw in Stones and Mori and it doesnt get worse. Boberto was the weak link here.

I would sign a grock though, i enjoy a good grock centre half.

we were link with Scott Dann last summer and whilst he isn't a great player it was the sort of signing Martinez needed and didn't make. There were times last season where a Shawcross or Dann style defender who would just head it clear or boot it into the stands was needed. Equally Stones and Jags can do that but were coached not to. I am hopefully that a new manager alone will cut out many of the defensive errors from last season

That would make sense if half our transfer rumours weren't foreign clubs trying to tempt away our players for double what we paid for them.

I have said we shall go for Vertonghen and Alderweireld few years ago. We shall not miss out on Veltman now.

Klaasen for €13m, Ousmane Dembele went on the cheap, Fabian Schar cheap last summer. Dunno how they do it.

I remember the furore over Dann vividly. Defo could've done with him or similar style defender.

Klaasen is essentially £10m whereas Niasse was £13.5m so technically he's rated worse than Niasse. Which he isn't. Be a long shot.

Klaasen is better and more experienced, Tarashaj is an unknown.
