Baines showed in the final game of the season that RM played a significant role in his subdued performances. Oviedo is fine as a left back - his poor outings have been at right back. Galloway and Garbutt have both shown potential, which is all you can ask, or expect, of them considering how few games they have actually played for us. This time last year plenty of people were on board with the idea of making Garbutt the starting left back FFS.

Any interest we might have in Sidibe is surely for him to play at RB. It may not say so on whoscored.com but I'm prepared to risk ignoring that particular font of wisdom.

You may laugh but I suspect a lot of clubs take the whoscored ratings into account when signing players. lol

In my opinion I think we need to do better than those 3 given the injury problems Baines has had. We could find ourselves relying on them again next season.

If that's the case we need to spend what we need to get him. A top fullback who can play either side is too good to pass up especially given our situation of having two good fullbacks who are both a bit injury prone.
 
I do hope we get our new manager in soon so we don't get left behind in the summer. Would hate for Milik to sign elsewhere before we settle on a manager. MoutsGoat might go ape....

As long as we sign Milik or Janssen I dont mind.

Watch this video, he doesnt even look at the goal 90% the time, you cant teach what this boy has.

Janssen will be world class. Keep saying it but for £15-20mil hes a bargain from AZ and would easily replace lukaku.

If he played last season for us and performed to the same level he would have outscored lukaku.

The new Van Nistelrooy. Hopefully we get FDB, Overmars, Janssen and Bazoer + Kenny Tete ;)

When you say you cant compare him to Amavi do you mean Amavi is better or just that one should be playing RB? Seems that sidibe played alot of games at LB last season and some big bids going on for him?

If amavi gets over his injury hed be a great signing as would idrissa gueye from villa.

Yeh I just mean if we signed him it would be for RB; I'd feel sorry for him if he came here to play as a LB. Amavi is a better option though when fit since he was dirt cheap in the summer so should be even less now they're relegated. Idrissa Gueye is overlooked because it's Villa but came out not far behind Kante in stats this season; squad player for us at the right price. Still want us to go for Kirchhoff though.

Tete and others are a big reason I'd like De Boer to come in - granted he'd go back and sign people - but we should look at Riedewald as well. He's a little short but a classy CB in the making.

Get your head out of your arse of course teams look at things like WhoScored; haven't you heard of the moneyball system in place at some clubs. It's fine comparing two players subjectively but having stats to highlight the difference is obviously beneficial.

Janssen is too much of a risk for me; he seems very "basic" in his style of play. I do wonder if he'd score anywhere close to what he did against English defences. From what I've read he never looked like he'd make it anywhere high up till this season so is it just a one off? Milik has more consistency and international pedigree if I had to choose between the two.

I know you say he doesn't look at the goal 90% of the time but the same can be said for most of the keepers not looking at the ball for those goals. No wonder he scored 32.
