Everton Transfer Thread 2016

I also don't understand why people think Moshiri is going to spend 1/13 of his wealth on football players. He's not a billionaire through throwing money away. The stadium he can sort and make a return on it if he invests his own dollar.

If we had good strikers in the youth set up, I'd agree with you

When was the last time we brought a good striker through?

Defenders? Yes

Midfielders? Yes

Even Spingthorpe seemed like a decent keeper

We're going to spend on a back up striker and possible a first choice striker if Rom leaves

But what about 3rd or 4th choice options?

Normally you'd give that to a youth player, but do we have a youth striker ready for that role?

I think not, hence why I'd loan Wilson

I'm not saying we should give United actual money for him, give him a decent wedge each week and make him first choice

If I was, you could all say I'd lost my mind without much complaint from me

But that's not what I'm saying

I'm saying we should use him as a cheap loan option in conjunction to the big signings I also want us to make

But to loan Wilson, we would realistically have to offer first-team football.

I understand, but I don't think it would really benefit either party, as we need to be bringing in the two 'proven' forwards.

Lukaku's sale would give us an extra £60m to spend overall. To me, he's as good as gone. I dont know which reputable source came up with the £100m in the first place.

Remember it's net spend. Assuming you're not including the Lukaku sale in the £105m.

Generally though, spot on, can't stand people saying we'll spend X amount without knowing we're not allowed to do that.

FFP will fall on it's arse soon anyway, restriction to trade as of EU law and there has already been cases where a team have argued, "we have a billiionaire owner, we don't need restrictions as there is no chance of us going under" and have won. (I think thjis particular one was Locomotiv Moscow.

No of course I mean NET spend, if we sold the entire team tomorrow for 300m, unlikely, I know, but we could then spend 405m on players without breaking any rules.

The 105m is basically ABOVE any money you make as a club, so if we sign a dodgy 400m deal tomorrow with some Iranian airline like City do, we could then spend that 400m.

Basically even if he wanted to Moshiri couldnt buy Messi and Ronaldo this summer.

I don't think we would to be honest

We'd just have to offer him more of a chance than he's getting right now

We'd offer him an opportunity, and nothing more

If he doesn't want to come in on that basis, then fine, we'll look elsewhere

If he is prepared to come in on that basis, I think we should give him the chance to prove himself

I assumed as much.

I would love us to, but I can't see us spending £100m before sales this Summer, especially when the ground issue is there.

But other clubs, like Brighton and other Championship clubs, even some premiership teams could offer him more football than we could, we will either keep Lukaku, who will be played every game or sell Lukaku and buy another player who will probably play every game, we then have Kone*spit*, Niasse and Tahajajajajajajasi as "back up", you would hope we punt the 2 utter trumpets right off and then in that case we replace them with a young striker, not on loan, that scores more than 4 goals a season.

I think the manager will have what he needs, wishful thinking I know, but I think if we NEED to spend 100m, I think the money will be there, I know, I live in a fantasy world, but the Mosh aint here to mess around.

If we kick the other two, I would hope us to buy a proven back up striker to go along Tahajashi

That's 3 strikers

I'd like us to have 4

If there's no one in our own youth set up ready, I don't see any issue with loaning Wilson, and either keeping him at the end of the season or replacing him with one of our own young players instead

We dont need 4 strikers Mikey, unless we hire Pellegrini and he wants to play 2.

Not when we aint in Europe, if we had Europa I would be down for 4, but otherwise nope.

The boy Wilson was highly rated, but 4 goals is a shocking return, have you considered thats hes pyar pony?

I just think he's been unlucky mate, and that a trip down to L4 could be the kickstart his young career needs

4 strikers if we were in Europe, yes definitely.

Not without, though.

His total record is 44 games, 9 goals. I think that if he was going to make it at Utd he would have had a better return and taken his chances.

Its a massive swerve for me!!!

Well look at the boy Rashford, got a chance came in and smashed it!

I think this boy Wilson scored millions of goals at U21 or something, could be wrong like, but the step up from U21 to First team is huge and the fact that he cant even make a dent in the championship is troubling.

God bless Mikey, he does enjoy rooting for the little guy, but sometimes its all in vain.

Wilson is still only young, so plenty of time yet, but I dont want him here thanks.

Yep - defo, plenty of time to make it and some young lads take longer to get to the level required... he's just not for me.

Lots of players have done similar, scored for fun and then never replicated it in the first team. Id just rather not have him trying to do that here.

Let him goto the championship and see if he can score more then 3 at another club.
