Yeh agree.
Well, I don't think Iheanacho or Hart will leave City, and I think Rooney has at least another year at United now under Mourinho and as a midfielder. Mata, Blind or Schneiderlin would all be great. Think Herrera has enough snide in him to stay under Mourinho as well tbh, but we'll see.
As for Chamberlain, I think for his own sake he needs a move, and yeh again I'd love it if it was here. Ramsey is a key part of their team though mate and has actually just been given the No.8 shirt - can't see him moving anywhere. Giroud is a weird one - maybe if they get a striker in (but a top class one - I don't mean Vardy - who as good as he is isn't world class).
Benteke - nah, don't want any RS players thanks and tbh I think with Benteke the whole team needs to be revolved around him to get the best out of him. Good player but not for the hassle and for what he'd cost. Markovic isn't a PL player - hasn't got the physicality. We already have two tempremental wingers on our books.
The thing is, we don't actually need that much.
We're realistically looking at two strikers (presuming Rom goes and Niasse is as crap as he looks), a central midfielder, potentially a playmaker/winger, a back up right back, and a goalkeeper. If Stones goes, throw in a centre half.
Even with the influx of cash, we won't - and shouldn't - go mental. The squad doesn't need that. It needs a refresh, but not a restart, if you get me. There's also a clean slate for all (well, most of) the players.
I imagine McGeady, Gibson, Pienaar and Kone will be shipped of asap - probably Niasse too.
That leaves us with Ossie and Hibbo who I think will stay on as a coaching/ambassador role (definitely Hibbert will I think) - Osman will probably look for a year elsewhere, and he could still do it at a lower level in fairness.
Then we have the likes of Garbutt and Oviedo, which is a bit of a toss-up. And then Browning, Galloway, Pennington ready for first team football, and Davies and Dowell at least ready to get a full pre-season under their belts with the first team.
Think your analysis is pretty accurate mate
Rather than try to say who i think wil be available, the ones listed was more of 'the type' of quality that could and will easily become available due to the managerial shuffle going on at the bigger teams this season, combined with a wenger who finally looks like he has decided to say f' it and spend to try win the title in his last season.
As for swerving any rs player, nah mate, remember sheedy, beardsley, watson etc players who either played or supported that shower who did fantastically for us, so IF they had someone who could play for us, Benteke - if they say where willing to sell him for a similar loss they took on Carroll i'd take every day of the week, Markovic for me was horribly mishandled and never given a fair chance, playing him at fb most of the time ffs, lads quality and for a knock down price would do well
As for what we need, IF rom goes we have zero striekrs, Naisse as i said before we signed him would not be anywhere close to good enough, kone is junk and finished and Lukaku looks to be off, need at least 2 more likely 3 signed mate, one proven in the league is an absolute must, and need to make sure the other 2 are better scouted than say we did with Naisse... (personally wouldn't cry in my beer if we ended up with say Janssen, Mitrovic and either of Giroud (ideally) or Benteke - all 3 would cost less than the fee we will want to sell Lukaku for as well, on Roms best days - yeah we'd be weaker with that lineup, but we'd be overall 'consistantly' better up front with those 3 options than entirely reliant on the form and if he cba of Luakaku like last season.
Keeper is a obvious need - my inner FM beaut is spouting names like Rico, Horn etc, but sod it - IF Moshiri wants to make a statmenet signign and if he really is going to plow a shedload into the team this seaosn, then yeah go try to get Hart or Butland - 30-40m but sorts out a position that has cost us points for years (and certainly at Howards best he never earned us points the way lloris, DeGea, Cech, Hart have done)
Defence - need a new cb even if stones stays, Jagielka is getting on and getting more knocks every season nowadays, Mori i just don't see staying here long term, and honestly we could get better than he is, long as the bloke bought suits the system and suits the other cbs then think on this regard Koeman will be a very safe pair of hands being a class cb himself
Center mid and left wing we need to seriously up the quality in though, we have no one above 'decent' on the left - thats an overstatment by me as well, need to finally fix that spot which has been terrible since Pienaar started missing more games than he played, and centre mid we have absolutely no one who is anything more than an ok player, but both besic and barry are one dimensional, one due to age the othe rprobably due to the coaching hes suffered under, besic - looks to be class but cant stay fit enough to plan around, need someone their who is a player who can dominate and dictate the game
The young lads we have coming through are the future no doubt about it, a big net spend this summer, a year more of those lads coming through and we may be in a great situation of seeing these lads alleviate the need in coming years to have to spend spend spend like some teams do, and they may gradually take their roles in the team - enabling the older players to be then sold on - say 2 years colemnan sold and kenty starting wouldnt exactly be a bad businees model if he is good enough, smae for the likes of davies and mccarthy
bit of a mad rambling psot but typing it whilst trying to sort the lad for bed lol
