To those citing his Chelsea form, keepers often need a run of games to become familiar with the side and to settle down. De Gea was crap when he first went to United wasn't he? And Gomes at Watford seems much better with a regular starting spot than he did at Spurs.

Fabianski and Adrian are good goalies. But we have an opportunity here to get a keeper that is way superior to anyone that we've had for years. The whole team rebuilding has to start with the No.1

Nope, but i'm not stupid enough to misplace form with ability.

Mccarthy could become roy keane-like, but not roy keane because he does not have that ability.

Complete clean slate for him and the rest of the team now we have a proper manager and not a fraud.

You also claim 'look at chelseas form when begovic was in goal' well.. they were already terrible form wise when courtois was in goal, and that was more do to a team thing more than a goalkeeping issue, and i don't think you watched many games during that period because for the most part when he was brought in he did very well.
