This is on Wijnaldum's wiki page

It is rumoured that he nearly failed his Newcastle medical as they couldn't find a heart, but the move went ahead when it was discovered he did have one, it was just the size of a pea.

From what I saw of him he was very inconsistent and scored most of hisgoals in a couple of games (4 V Norwich, a couple on the last day).

I think it's unfair to judge a player based on their first season in an extremely hard league playing for one of the worst teams and being asked immediately to be the main man. He has obvious quality; he didn't score 11 goals off his shoulder and chin did he.

To be fair, Wijnaldum in a Newcastle side vs Mata in a Man Utd side last season...

Wijnaldum is a also few years younger.

Just because he has some nice stats doesn't make him a world beater. Put Milner on there and he'd look class. For the record, I think Wijnaldum is decent and I'd have him but not over Champions League, Europa League, World Cup and Euros winning Mata.

These are the players we need to be signing, people who've won things. It's why we should be trying to sign Hart and not Begovic

I'd argue with "often" and replace it with "sometimes". For £30m+, you have to be consistent - turning on the style for 10 games a season isn't going to cut it. As harsh as this sounds, I see Mata as a really elite version of James McFadden; can look absolutely incredible sometimes, then have games you hardly notice him.

I don't think Wijnaldum is more talented than Mata - but I think he offers more back to front than Mata will ever do, and isn't too shabby technically either.

I kind of get where you're coming from this but oh my.
