We should not be worried about bringing an experienced player or two. We have plenty of youngsters banging on the door and the risk we run is that the squad will be totally unbalanced with young players if the youngsters continue to do as well as they have been doing.
We have lost a lot of experience from the squad this summer in Howard, Osman, Pienaar and Hibbert. They may not have been up to playing anymore but they had a wealth of experience to pass on.

Can you imagine the knowledge and craft the young players could learn from a player like Sneidjer .
We tend to get to worried about the age of the player , Barry and Distin should have taught us that lesson in recent seasons.
Utd brought Larsson in for a very successful season and I think he was nearly in his mid thirties at the time.

Hibbo, Osman and Pienaar already gone.
Kone and McGeady NEED to go.
Cleverley, McCarthy and Niasse all need to prove themselves quickly or be replaced.
First choice keeper needed.
Backup striker needed.
Backup RB needed - don't want a Browning or a Kenny sitting on the bench every week when they could be developing as a player by getting 30 starts on loan in the championship.
Some creativity in the middle of the park needed - either a big-time CM or a big-time 10 (possibly both).

Unless you want a bench full of kids every week, we need more than 3 or 4 players - would you be prepared to split the difference and agree on six?

That is 26 first team squad member (i thought id be nice and not add Kone & McGeady as you said they will be ditched)
I also did not add Galloway, Davies, Dowell, Pennington, Ledson, Kenny, Walsh as they are all under 21 years of age but in my opinion a better option as squad fillers than some of our first teamers.
So if you also add the kids thats 33 lads possibly training with the first team next season. Far to many in my opinion and only 11 of these can start every week.
2,3 or 4 signings would make it alot easier to manage the squad then 7 or 8

There's no doubt I'd choose Sneijder over Hoolahan. But Hoolahan isn't bad.

Problem is he's 34, still has a year on his contract, so it would cost money to get him, also, he is on £40k a week at Norwich, so is going to want the same if he moved.


















And he's a bit crap.
