Hoolahan is a better option than Mata for a number of reasons.
- Mata would be expensive and on big wages
- Mata also fades after 70 mins
- Mata would think he's bigger than the club after where he's come from
- Mata usually can;t handle the more physical aspects of the game
- Hoolahan would be cheap for signing and wages, granted he's getting on a bit
- Hoolahan doesn't go missing during games
- Hoolahan wouldn't complain if he was benched/taken off during games
- Hoolahan has a great assist and scoring record for his price range.

Worth a gamble I think and if it didn't work out it wouldn't be a big financial loss.

THE worst post I have ever had the misfortune of reading.

Hoolahan over Mata. Must be a windup.

Better than Mata? I give up, most ridiculous thing I ever heard

Obviously Mata is preferable. But lets be realistic, he's a gamble and at the price he's not worth it. Alternatives to Hoolahan are obviously better, but I didn't bring up Hoolahan in the first place :)

At the price he is worth it mate. He is proven in the league and we are crying out for creativity - something Juan Mata has in droves.

And as for Mata thinking he's bigger than the club, he seems a grounded down-to-earth bloke so I can't see him being arrogant. Oh and he doesn't fade after 70 mins. And he quite blatantly can stand the physical aspects of the game - not missed a single game through injury shows he's quite capable of looking after himself.

Basically your post was tosh.

Actually cannot believe this has tripped people up on this forum. Come on guys

Lets be honest, people saying we dont need or want mata are realistically downplaying it because of the plucky little everton mentality we'be been stuck with for years,
Because he's a big money, high wage, high quality player we struggle to believe we have a chance of him coming so are downplaying it int the event he doesnt come so as to avoid dissapointment
