He moved to a league to be a guaranteed starter every game and play in the Champions League every year. How is that not motivation?

To a dead league, when he had other, bigger, better leagued clubs available?.

Don't get me wrong, he's talented, but I just find it a bit offputting. A huge step up on the likes of Gibson, McCarthy IF we did sign him.

with respect mate how do you know he had 'bigger and better clubs' available to him? zenit are in the champions league every season, and pay good money, so to a footballer that is a great mix. He clearly wants to leave now to further his ambition.

I can remember the links to him at the time, a palyer of his talent doesn't go without those interested clubs. If only Zenit were truly in for him then fair enough, but persoanlly I can't believe that considering how highly rated he was when he came through.

links in papers don't directly relate to actual offers though, maybe the other offers were not as good? he is still a young player, now has bags of experience in champions league and challenging for stuff, and is now moving on.

Have to say I'm a bit disappointed in seeing clubs like West Ham and Palace going all out to sign the likes of Batshuayi while we seem to be procrastinating as much as ever.

Brendan Rodgers has made Moussa Dembélé his first signing as the Celticmanager.

Dembélé, 19, has signed a four-year contract at Parkhead after leaving Fulham. The highly rated French forward scored 17 goals for the Championship side last season but was out of contract.

He joined Fulham from Paris Saint-Germain as a 16-year-old and made his debut against West Ham United in November 2013. He had been linked with Tottenham Hotspur but chose to join the Scottish champions.

“It’s a massive thing to come to this club and to be Brendan Rodgers’ first signing is something unreal for me,” he told Celtic’s website.
