Everton Transfer Thread 2016

he has been pretty convincing in the games, like his work ethic and heart, kick mirallas out and bring him in.

He's looked good so far mate, but i'd always be ultra wary of signing a player just based upon one tournament and a handful of games in it, looking at the blokes record in France, would be a major worry that he is pretty much an impact sub for his french team.

10m for a player who isn't judged as good enough to start for a mediocre french side doesn't fill me with confidence

Rumour goes that he was high on Koemans list for Southampton this season, and has watched him a few times.

Now i don't know if this is "Niasse" watched a few times or actually scouted...

Who knows.

Aye seen the links to him from Koeman at Saints, hopefully it is more a case of lazy journalism just throwing names out that they believe he had targetted at Saints and he will be shopping at a higher level now with us.

managers going for former targets they had when at another club just remind me of Martinez going for McGeady and Cleverley though (both of whom he tried to sign for Wigan and failed) - both easily good enough for a crap wigan side, both clearly not good enough for an Everton side wanting to push towards the top 4

To a dead league, when he had other, bigger, better leagued clubs available?.

Don't get me wrong, he's talented, but I just find it a bit offputting. A huge step up on the likes of Gibson, McCarthy IF we did sign him.

He moved to Zenit when they were competing at a very high level and had signed Hulk. They meant business.

Russian football has deteriorated a lot since then - I believe it was 2012 he moved there.

He's a class act though. I wasn't sure he was the player we needed but watching him a bit more closely at the Euros -
Plus with info from @bluestevon , who knows his stuff on Russian footy, then I think he'd actually be a superb acquisition.

However, in equal measure if we don't get him I'd be confident we'd get somebody else in jus as good. Still
Think Schneiderlin could be the one, and I don't think he Sneijder story is over yet either.

Mandanda (had a tough few years in an underperforming Marseille side but is still a quality keeper. Would definitely be a good signing)

Witsel/Schneiderlin - can both play that box to box, 'dominating' midfield role that we need. RK likes to play 4-3-3, and I think with McCarthy having shown he can perform to his high standards when played in a holding role (in a relatively poor international side against both Italy and the tournament favourites) then he'll be given a chance in that role should that system be used. Barkley to one side and the box to box player to the other would be a superb way to set up, but also extremely flexible as well.

Sneijder - the benefits of this deal would be that we could bring in a player who has vast amounts of experience at the highest level and is still capable of running a game on his day. Barkley could learn loads from him, and he'd be ideal to have in the side if Barkley wasn't fit / in form, as long as he had the legs of the 'box to box' player (New signing / Besic) and the holding player behind him. We obviously then have Barry in reserve for that holding role as well.

Can feel a new entry into the GOT Dictionary/Glossary being required for the future generations:

Niassed. verb, meaning to have been scouted in footballing terms by a blind person, by Youtube video or by Football computer game. Could include a combination of up to two of the methods stated but not all three as that would be deemed far too comprehensive.

My ignore list continues to grow with the amount of fm experts that appear here .

Or maybe with the access to streaming, BT Sport, Sky sports and internet in general, people actually see foreign football being played on a regular basis ? Therefore opening up the options of where Everton could buy from, or who people would like to see us sign.

People who share the same opinion as you should just sit on the LFC transfer committee because it obvious you can only buy from one source for example Southampton or wigan.

I look forward to being on that ignore list with all the other FIFA lads ;)

We can't judge Koeman on signings before they have even played.
Most seemed excited by Niasse until he got on the pitch.

Mandanda isn't top class but he's played at the highest level. In Europe and for France so he's a big time player. On a free as well you can't go wrong really.
Seems a bit small when I think back to watching Marseille over the years. Don't know how tall he actually is like

Anyways Ye I back Koeman until his signings prove otherwise.

The season that OM last won Ligue 1 - 2010/11, IIRC - I remember that he was being touted around all the biggest clubs.

Signed a big deal at Merseille though and stayed on, but once PSG and Monaco got the money and monopolised Ligue 1 - plus OM crashed due to poor management and running of the club - the team's quality suffered.

He's never hit the heights many thought he would, and Lloris came through to be France's no.1, but he's still a very good keeper.
