I'll certainly defer to you about his ability as I'm sure you've seen him much more than me, but I still don't consider it a bargain when he's untested in the prem! Also filled with dread a little bit about another Belgian shouting his mouth off everytime he goes on international duty. It doesn't excite me like signing Schneiderlin would, but then I've seen him plenty.

I'm normally very sceptical about players moving from this league to the prem mate, but Witsel is someone i've been callign for us to go after since 2014 on here, really quality player

Napoli were in for him ( and they are no mugs) and matched the fee, they just couldn't meet the wage demands so not too worried about that but take your point

I'm not personally a massive Barry fan, but people seemed to think he did a hard graft last season, plus he won the players player award and the player of the year, so I think there's incentive to keep him. Plus his experience would help and all that jazz

Same here. He wouldn't have much of a sale value anyway. Better to keep him around the squad for the experience, move McCarthy or Cleverly on. Even though he is getting on, he will probably keep going alright for a bit longer yet if he doesn't have to play every week.
