I am glad that the likely sale of Stones will not be till we have signed a load of players. Its important psychologically to show that we are different from the old Everton: if it wasn't for the STCC rules I am sure we wouldn't even sell Stones. Plus, If we sold him first before signing players, there would be a lemming-like multiple suicide by certain members of this forum...
Where does the queue start.

Good post.
We could of easily gon out and got the likes of Praet & Tielemens at anderlecht or El Ghazi at ajax and had 4 or 5 signings in already going for the "up and coming" player.
We have a few of them already so as you say we are looking for a different calibre of player, players who have image rights and percentage of shirt sales into there contracts etc, alot more of a harder sell.
Big reqards if it gets pulled off though

In many ways that would have been my preferred option. However it is not Moshiri's option and more importantly not Koeman's. I don't think that's a bad thing either. I think it shows the speed they want Everton competing at the top end of the division. They don't want it to be a 5 year plan.

We have some very talented young players you are right on that so even if we do buy players in their prime there are no worries now.

Milik would be a good shout but is one of the most one footed players I've ever seen, It's like he doesn't even train his right foot.

It's almost like they don't have a Director of Football isn't it.

I can only assume either Southampton know or have a fair idea of who their next manager will be or they are looking only at managers who play a certain way. Otherwise they would be buying blind with no idea of if any new signing would fit into the new managers plans surely.

It's not like anyone they are signing is a statement looking to boost the commercial side of the club

Some people say that Claude Puel is Southampton manager and has been since 30th June 2016....

Watched him in the Euro's.....Polands equivalent to Stewart Downing! Did'nt convince me but luckily i'm not his manager!

I take a lot of pleasure in seeing this type of stuff on the interwebs.
...I've been called a glory hunter by someone in Chelsea jersey before, priceless stuff.

I think it's more a question of we will pay more not doing a trade for Witsel that interests Napoli but I've seen those theories.

Peak activity currently, we are in active discussions for 8 players to my knowledge although not all of those can be realistically expected to close and a couple are for the same position.

I would be willing to sacrifice Witsel for Koulibaly every day of the week. If he was Stones' replacement and we get near £50m that would be very good business indeed.

Schneiderlin or William Carvalho would be slightly cheaper but viable midfield options.

See we are linked with Rui Patricio this morning as well, he was superb in the Euros and kept 21 clean sheets for Porto albeit in a 3 team league. Would be an excellent signing at a great price.

I hope we have most of our business done by kick off on the 13th but if Koeman adds 1-2 more by the deadline it will be great.
