I was wondering along the same lines but also though that Ron may edge his bets slightly and keep the squad fairly large until the January window just to see how any of the new signings settle in and really give him the time to take stock of what he has got. Possibly also more chance of off loading the more fringe/squad players at that stage as other teams start to feel the pinch of injuries or being in the wrong places in the table.
decent point. Look at he prices for players like Nais, Townsend and Shelvey last jan when Newcastle and Norwich were staring relegation in the face.

In many ways that would have been my preferred option. However it is not Moshiri's option and more importantly not Koeman's. I don't think that's a bad thing either. I think it shows the speed they want Everton competing at the top end of the division. They don't want it to be a 5 year plan.

We have some very talented young players you are right on that so even if we do buy players in their prime there are no worries now.

This is what i said at the start of the window. We don't need to be buying potential, especially when we can afford players ala mata already in their prime. It's also not needed because of the abundance of youth we already have in our team. We need a couple of old experienced pros and players who have experience of winning things. It's why i'd love a rumour like sneijder to be true, think the name alone would make people around the world notice us as well.

We'll still buy potentials, but most of our best players are young as it is.
