The DOF would come in to help build a culture between the youth teams and first team, giving the club an identity. Having a DOF in place helps aid the transition between managers. If you know what style of play you're using, you can narrow down your managerial targets. It's a misconception over here that they buy the players. Spurs did it completely wrong, so do Liverpool. In many cases, specifically in Holland, they do the negotiations while the manager finds the targets.

It means that the manager is focused on coaching and building relationships with players and not having those relationships broken into pieces when a contract negotiation comes up.

Well let's just hope it's for reasons beyond our control. There's a theory that in general signings are being held up due to a couple of really big ones not having happened yet (like Pogba) and when they do it will kickstart the whole thing of. I also think the value in the market, or lack thereof is putting a lot of clubs of. It's clear the European teams want to extort as much out of the premiership teams as possible.

Yes, there's been an ST increase...which is brilliant. But perhaps this is based on a progressive move forward/price staying the same/a new hope for the future/ a BOSS new regime as opposed to...y'know, an instant hit/trophy and signing RONALDO.

I'm sure there are others, probably those that are more specific however it's a stupid argument to make and frankly it didn't even deserve a response this long. Football clubs move forward because of the players they sign. It's no more complicated than that.

Fair enough mate, ,,99% of people acting irk imo are chancers, they are out there mind just have to use judgement really like with anything in life who you put a degree of trust in what they say. Plus no matter how connected anyone is. They will never get everything correct by a long shot
