Everton Transfer Thread 2016

Depends, they're both about as consistent as each other.

At the moment, with two years in age between them, I'd say Mane edges it, but I reckon Del has a lot more to his game and much more potential.

If Koeman can get Kev back to his true level (I'm talking 2013/14 and beginning of 2014/15) plus get Del fit enough to be consistent (he's never gonna be a player who bursts his guts for 90 minutes, but he does need to improve his stamina) and then factor in Lennon who I think will be a very tidy player under Koeman and somebody who will play a key part in the high-press/counter-attack style RK favours, we've got a hell of a choice in attacking wide areas.

Add to that, bringing in a playmaker of the quality of Mata (or another option should that move not come to fruition) and we're looking rosy.

It's why i am failing to understand the utter meltdowns we are seeing on a daily basis on here mate, over the entrie division theres been about 3-4 players that i've seen signed that i was like - oh he'd have been a good signign for us, and one of those is out injured until January at the earliest in Gundogan

Same mate. I really don't care what other clubs are doing (which really hasn't been much).

Only time I've ever been a bit gutted that we lost out on a player was when Koeman snatched Tadic up! In the end it was purely down to us wanting more funds for Rom though, so you have to accept that's the way it goes.

Is the fact that we finished 5th in a season that started three years ago really making you feel comfortable? What would you say to a kopite that kept on harping on about the same season in which they lost the league by just 2 points? You would tell them to get real and stop living in the past. The premier league has completely changed since three years ago. The fact that we have barely changed since then is a cause of concern, not something to make you feel confident.

But their squad is wildly different now and ours isn't sooooo irrelevant? I'm not saying it makes me feel particularly comfortable I'm just not worried about us. We've proved these players have synergies that work well when trained and taught well. We'll see come May 2017 I just know our starting XI as it is is good.

There are a few that we were linked with and didn't get, like when Townsend and Mandanda went to Palace a few weeks back and I thought they are better than we have. I guess it just feels like we are getting close to the start of the season now and not much is happening. People get the sinking feeling that we won't sign anyone of note, until deadline day or not at all, as we have done in previous seasons. Or worst case, we sign no one and sell Lukaku and Stones

We bide our time, buy quality, people moan it's taking too long.

We act fast, buy dross, people moan nothing has changed.

Fickle business 'eh.

I think the worry for a number of fans is that we bide our time, and buy dross

We have no idea of what level we're currently operating at - Especially as it seems no bids were formally tabled for any of these 'marquee' signings

The think is though we can try and match dots up all we want on here but this club has been absolutely silent since Moshiri came in until announcements were made so really we have absolutely no idea whom we've bid for if anything and I prefer it like that. I'd rather see a presser come up boom we've signed someone than the embarrassment that is West Ham reading every day "random striker turns down £35m move to West Ham" since that lowers credibility in my eyes and makes the club look like they haven't got a clue what to do with their money.

We would never have sacked Martinez and replaced him with Koeman under the Kenwright era.
Really? The fans were about to lynch him on the last day of the season and Koeman is about the standard I would expect under Kenwright. It's not like we have signed a manager with loads of champions league and big league winning experience who has managed at the very top.

We may not have got Koeman but we would have no problem getting Frank De Boer or someone similar and frankly I don't see much difference between them. I never did get the whole Koeman is a big name thing. He's a decent manager who is a huge step up from Martinez however but let's not pretend we have one of the top managers in the game, he's the very definition of a journeyman.

Erm managed the 3 best teams in the Netherlands, one of the best teams in Portugal and one of the former biggest teams in Spain?

If you're so confident under Kenwright we'd have gone for Koeman why did we end up with Martinez - a relegated manager - after Moyes?
