Agreed. A massive overhaul can bring it's own complications as it can remove any squad harmony, chemistry and any form of consistency.
Removal of the dead wood, a number of quality signings and correct training of what we've already got could bring about a massive turn around.
I really doubt we'll see more than six new faces this summer and after a season to really judge the players will larger departures take place.
And @ultra I hope so too! The atmosphere was so often tepid for the last two seasons and became incredibly counter-productive.
Yet, the last game of the season against Norwich showed how a fresh face with a fresh approach could instantly change things. It'll be fine!

Think that size of club suits RM though. Ultimately, despite my support of him and his brilliant first season with us, he ended up proving he doesn't have the mentality to work at a 'big' club - though if Phelan stays on should RM get the job, I do think he'd be a good Ying to Martinez's (sometimes disturbingly naive) Yang.
