Everton Transfer Thread 2016

I think we'll still see a few departures this summer: one high profile; a few squad players and maybe some of the younger lads on loan.

The club are simply protecting themselves by saying 'look, we've warned you that numbers may change so don't be annoyed if they do'.

I predict Stones will be sold. McGeady, Niasse and Rodriguez on a season loan (cos no one wanna buy them). Kone and Barry to go as well(purely because he wants first team football we can't offer that).

Obviously kone and niasse are locks to be binned if possible. Id also try to flog Oviedo, McCarthy to balance books a bit. Although wouldn't be too arsed if one of besic, cleverly or Lennon was sacrificed instead.

Edit: forgot mcgeady - release on a free - anything!!

I think the exciting thing is we'll probably have both Witsel and Wijnaldum singing to the press in the next 48 about how they turned down Everton even though they offered more money, for 'footballing reasons', which is nice.

We do over the squad. I'm not saying sign 7 x 30 million players, and certainly we have the odd one to bring in already. Tarashaj replaces osman for example. It is just about having a competitive squad, players who make the team and ones who can push them.

Having a few younger players who don't really make the team but are available when needed 5 months down the line. The grand scheme of things was that we didn't actually use that many players last season out of a 25 man squad, hell take the youngsters out when the season was over we probably only used around 15 or 16 at most. Leaves 9 players who essentially could have been avaiable but weren't.

I think 5/6 signings (depending on outgoings obviously) plus integrating youngsters such as Dowell, Davies and Holgate, along with Galloway/Browning, and we're perfectly fine

Went for 3 years straight after my son was born for his birthday then left it after that. now the baby is 2, going back there again.
Slightly off topic (well very off topic), but Blackpool Zoo is much, much better. Obviously a further drive if you're from Merseyside but it's worth it.

More animals who you actually can get up and close to, lot of activities to do and generally a nicer atmosphere.

The entire league are our rivals. For all of SKY's insistence that ithe is all about the Manchester clubs this season and what Chelsea can do. It isn't. We could easily finish above all 3 of those clubs. Last season and the Euros proved that a well organised and disciplined side can win, even if it does not possess the best players. It will be a very open league again, don't let the biased media brainwash you.

Regarding transfers I am sure we will strengthen. If it takes longer than we would like then so be it.

Well, yes, in the sense that they're the opposition.

However, realistically, there has to be a divide somewhere. Atm I'd say we should be competing for top six, and that most likely means Liverpool, West Ham, Spurs, Chelsea...

I'd be more than content if the departures were only Koné, Niasse and McGeady. I'd give Oviedo, McCarthy and Cleverely at least another season.

I feel that many of the lads were incredibly underwhelming primarily because of the system we played under Martinez and the atmosphere.

Obviously if they aren't able to up their game with new additions and under Koeman, then I'd look to move them on in January or the summer.

Still, I think there'll be more departures than I'm suggesting but that would be an ideal situation for me.

Spot on. People seem to want a massive overhaul of the squad, but that isn't what's needed and it won't help.

Is it near the promenade? I wouldn't take my children near that hell hole in a million years. Remember going to watch a radiohead gig in the winter gardens years ago before parenthood and there was a punch up in the McDonald's in the middle of the day. Inhabited by absolute pond life that place.

well I know you're half joking but I think it's clear we weren't really bothered about Wijnaldum at that price, and there's no evidence that Witsel is definitely not coming to us either...

No, it's actually in a semi-affluent suburb of Blackpool. You come of the M55 at the end and head down Preston New Road to the centre / North.

If Juve are in for him with the Pogba money that is game over, and explains the delay

I am really hoping for a return of the old bear-pit atmosphere this season after the football equivalent of chloroform for the last two years. Am sure with RK's high-tempo approach, the Old Lady will be rocking again!!
