Everton Transfer Thread 2016

Number 2 is up for grabs (from Hibbert) and hopefully Gibson will lose number 4 and McGeady, Oviedo and Kone to lose 7, 8 and 9 respectively. Some big numbers to be had!

Give Funes Mori the number 2 (Seamus will stay 23 as it appears to be a lucky number for him) and move Jagielka to 4, freeing up number 6 for a big-name central midfielder. I'd personally like Deulofeu to take over the 7, Ross to be given the 8 and Lukaku number 9.

This is quite possibly the least important thing in the world. Seriously, haven't you got anything more worthwhile to do with your time?
Players don't tend to change number due to the negative impact on kids with numbered shirts.

I love this belief that Ronald sat down a bunch of randomers and went into detail about his transfer plans, for no apparent reason. lol

Gotta love the internet... Hardly rocket science that is it.

Tell you what - I'm ITK right? So here's the score - we'll sign someone Tuesday or Wednesday, midfielder. Vero.

The guy you're discrediting said that we were signing Tarashaj on the 3rd of January, which was four days before it was confirmed and a day before papers started running with it. It was out of the blue.

You're being unfair.

Gundogan is out till like Christmas fat load of good that signing is.
You've completely missed the point I was trying to make.

Man City fans won't panic as they know their owners will buy good/world class players in this window. They do it every year.

We have no proof that this new owner wants to sign players for huge sums. He could be another Arsenal-like owner who wants to watch the pennies!

When is the time to judge? Now or after the window closes?
Definitely when the window closes.

But as Everton fans we're entitled to be suspicious and worried. We have signed an average goal keeper so far and the season starts in a few weeks!

But he hasn't officially gone yet. Do you think the City fans are whining and accusing the owner and manager of dragging their feet and being unable to push deals through the same way many of ours are now?

It's a long window. Most things happen toward the end. I don't understand why fans are so surprised and seemingly offended by this every year.

city have already signed two players though mate, and will probably finalise more before we get anywhere near one. Beat barca to nolito and negotiated gundogan as well

Even if this was the case (it won't be) what's the problem with that scenario?

lesser quality signing 3 players for 40 million.

Possibly because they've recently won the league, can off CL football & operate in a wage structure we aren't permitted as of yet. We're starting from the very bottom here in terms of becoming a big club again. It's honestly just common sense to know we have money and can spend money we just haven't as of yet. People seem to just want to doubt everything for the crack at the minute. Skepticism through the roof.

Even though I'm starting to panic, I just don't believe Koeman would have left the job he was in if he wasn't given assurances regarding the type of transfers that would be brought in.

Hopefully this will start to happen this week!

Why and how do you think we will spend big money for the next few years on exiting new players?

When has either RK or BK suggested this?

We have a few quid extra because of the new tv deal but so does every other team in the league.

why are you comparing us to City though? They're the fourth richest club in the world?

My guess is that things won't start heating up until next week. By then, Walsh and Koeman will have had a couple weeks to work together and get a plan in place. We will have played four proper preseason games, so there should be a pretty good sense by then of how Koeman wants the team to operate moving forward, who should stay, who should go, etc.

False promises? lol

Look i'm not flapping about, more just thinking out loud with my posts.

Just, like that thread ressurected yesterday about nothing has changed at the club. When i first read it i thought it was a clear WUM thread (which it was to be fair in intention) but then 3 weeks have passed and it suddenly looks scarily familiar.

Nothing to do with that!

Football is traditionally played with shirt numbers 1 - 11. Strikers can get a boost by being given the 'special' number 9 shirt, wingers traditionally love the number 7, etc. I say Deulofeu would be delighted to receive the 7 as opposed to his current number which possibly suggests he isn't good enough to be a starter (amongst numbers 1 - 11).

Not quite sure as to why you decided on a somewhat aggressive tone in your reply?
