Everton Transfer Thread 2016

You've completely missed the point I was trying to make.

Man City fans won't panic as they know their owners will buy good/world class players in this window. They do it every year.

We have no proof that this new owner wants to sign players for huge sums. He could be another Arsenal-like owner who wants to watch the pennies!
Does your buddy that rubbed shoulders with LVG and Mourinho have any further scoops?

Why and how do you think we will spend big money for the next few years on exiting new players?

When has either RK or BK suggested this?

We have a few quid extra because of the new tv deal but so does every other team in the league.

Why? Because we can.

How? By making the club more attractive on and off the pitch whilst offering competitive wages AFTER we've sold our dismal commercial affairs or sold Stones.

Price and quality don't always correlate that way mate don't be so naive.

Not really.

But then i highly doubt a combination of Ronald koeman and a fella in his new job for 5 minutes can go bargain hunting and come out with better players in this window. So when matas cost 30 million and koulababy's cost 40 million plus, doing a lescott type deal won't work any more.

and to answer the question of what is wrong with that, hardly makes us any more competitive does it when the team above us can sign who they like and we are sell to buy and wondering why we aren't playing champions league football.

I'm not saying that will happen, just suggesting it

It on honestly baffles me why you and many others keep thinking the City's and Chelsea's of this world are our rivals this season. At the end of the window compare our business to that of Southampton and West Ham before thinking we're underachieved in the market. The bigger clubs are worlds apart from us for a couple of years at least. Whacking a load of money into us doesn't bridge that gap in a few months.

Thought capturing Steve before doing any transfer business was smart myself, might be wrong come Tottenham.

Comparisons to other clubs with a change of manager are irrelevant as i think we have had to do a lot more important backroom reshaping than just signing a gaffa

I haven't said they are our rivals?

and i'm not talking about 'whacking a load of money', i'm talking about buying better players than Kone, McGeady, 36 year old Barry, Aaron Lennon (dumped by a team who have surpassed us) , Tom Cleverley who only gig before us was Aston Villa he was so in demand etc

Because that is the thing, in a market where so many half decent players are being sold at a premium, we need to spend money. If 15 million buys you Ibe, then we need to spend double that to get a player anywhere near the level we want to be at.

this isn't rivalling City, this is about replacing aging and poor players who would struggle to even get into the team of anyone in the top 14 perhaps more in the league. What is the point in having players as good as some we do have and pair them up with ones that are poor? Without spending money then we will get nowhere, and in this market we need a fair few quid to even rival teams like west ham who bought brilliantly whilst we rotted away with kones and naismiths instead of payets.

But you honestly think if we sold Stones for £40m we'd replace with £40m worth of 3 players? We will spend but even if for some bizarre reason we're stringent there are still bargains to be had. Marc Bartra as an example went to Dortmund for €8m.
