Has anyone else not heard of Torres or is it just me? Is he better option than yarmolenko?

Anyway, I'm still sulking over the payet rumour from last summer...he's completely transformed West Ham from utter jarg to quite decent! Missed the boat on that one

Are there any links to Oliver Torres and us? I woke up in amazement to see the posts about him on here.

i'd have thought he'd be £30mil+ as he's likely to be Spains next playmaker/Xavi in my opinion.

If it was a choice of Yarmolenko or Torres it would be tricky. Torres would be perfect on the left to combine with Barkley and basically we'd have Giggs/Beckham equivilent with him and Deulofeu on the flanks. Yarmolenko much more direct and brings goals though which we lack without Lukaku.

i wonder if there may be a chance of a loan to buy for Torres as they did last season with Porto (no buy option) then we could see where he would fit in,on the left or centrally with one eye on competing with McCarthy/Besic next season.

Again, would love to see some links, Yarmolenko+ Oliver Torres = ALL our big name players staying i think.

Depends what Martinez wants in terms of the 'profile' (to use a Bobbyism) of player for that position. Torres would be ideal for that Pienaar role. He's a class act and a true playmaker who likes to drift inside and link up play, but from a wide berth.

Yarmolenko is more about power and pace and would likely offer a lot more support to Lukaku - in terms of how Kone does, but obviously he's better.

Then again we probably won't get either.

So right now potentially we are losing gibson/Mcgeady/naismith/piennar?
Granted they were all going anyway by the summer but its a big chunk in the squad that. You would hope that means we have at least one player replacing them this window, with tarashaj replacing two of them next season.

sounds like we are trying to trim the wage budget as much as poss..
Considering how little any of these players are in the plans so to speak it makes sense if we can get rid now.

Only Gibson will be a miss i think as the back up, naismith only if lukaku is injured for a period of time (unless we replace with a striker).

Great move for him if true.

His first European club, slower league for him, we get shut. Make it happen @world

Something is definitely going on behind the scenes atm, McGeady and Gibson both looking like being shipped off on loans, Naismith to be sold to Norwich looks almost certain now, Pienaar now linked with a move to Ajax.

looks seriously like we are trying to trim a huge amount off the wages for something, McGeady 40-50k, Gibson 30-40k, Naismith 30-40k, Pienaar 60k, looking at cutting about 160-190k per week in wages there alone.

Really does give the impression that we are looking at bringing in someone on good money this window - also would suggest maybe we are looking to give improved deals to a few players and are making room in the wage structure for it

Yarmolenko coming in for 90-100k pw followed by Lukaku, Barkley and Stones all getting offered big improved contracts?

As for the stuff about Torres - fantastic young player but can't see Madrid letting him go anywhere permanently, if they di like and we could get him then 'windmill time'

George Best, George Weah.

But Wales have produced some outstanding players over the years, we have had a close look at most of them.

Could always be about trimming the books for the 'potential' takeover...either way, interesting days ahead

If we can offload the likes of McGeady, Naismith, Gibson and Pienaar in exchange for couple of QUALITY signings, that will be an outstanding bit of business from Everton. Fingers crossed.
