Has anyone else not heard of Torres or is it just me? Is he better option than yarmolenko?

Anyway, I'm still sulking over the payet rumour from last summer...he's completely transformed West Ham from utter jarg to quite decent! Missed the boat on that one

Big player on Fifa and Fm mate.... Completely different to Yarmolenko.... He is more like a Silva player

sounds like we are trying to trim the wage budget as much as poss..

My thinking as well mate, new contracts
didn't help that Russia has sfa income tax

Aye hgis salary in Russia after tax would have been the equivalent of him getting 'around' 60k pw in the UK, the Russian s used to fine him half a months salary at any opportunity they could do though lol

No wonder he was miffed :p but seriously I think the income tax in Russia is 8% so somebody on 40k a week would take home more than a prem player on 65K a week

This is just abot of guess work when it comes to wages. But on players contracts expiring in the summer or we are looking to ship out

Pienaar 60k
Oviedo 20k
Hibbert 20k
Osman 40k
Gibson 35k
Naismith 30k
Mcgeady 30k
Mcaleny 10k

Thats 245k a week on wages saved.
Obviously an extra 25 a week (hopefully) to lukaku, stones & barkley and then say a few rises for other players (kids) say another 25k.
Leaves us with 145k a week.
Thats 7.5 million a year

Depends what Martinez wants in terms of the 'profile' (to use a Bobbyism) of player for that position. Torres would be ideal for that Pienaar role. He's a class act and a true playmaker who likes to drift inside and link up play, but from a wide berth.

Yarmolenko is more about power and pace and would likely offer a lot more support to Lukaku - in terms of how Kone does, but obviously he's better.

Then again we probably won't get either.

Well, if you look at the players we have 'mid-long term'

LW -- ?? /??
DM -- McCarthy
CM -- Besic/Cleverley
AM -- Barkley / Tarashaj
RW -- Deulofeu
CF -- Lukaku

i would think Torres could play on the left/right and also as a deep lying playmaker. Both he and also Cleverley would fill the need for any further signings centrally and also act as cover for LW/LM. So with the addition of Yarmolenko our midfield long term would be pretty much complete.

Also, and perhaps @bluestevon may be able to confirm this, perhaps Yarmolenko could also play up front if needed?

If so then we'd see a huge upgrade in quality not only in terms of positions but also in depth. Would be amazing.

we better not be paying mcaleny 10k p/w! mcgeady is on a lot more though
