You cannot possibly compare our lack of signings to City's. They are Man City, their squad is full of world class players already. We need to strengthen about 4 or 5 positions to even keep up with the likes of West Ham. Sorry if the truth frightens anyone.

Don't think so. Apart from Adrian (who isn't great) and Payet, who else gets in our 11? Maybe Kouyate at a push. They have some decent players no doubt but I think the removal of the Martinez effect and any return to top form of the likes of Lukaku Barkley Mirallas Deulofeu Baines Stones Jags Coleman would see us ease past them. We gave them pretty good games even in our absolute lowest ebbs when they were flying high. They have a very good manager and one great player. We had a very good squad managed by a hopeless manager.

Jags Stones Mori > Reid Tomkins Collins

Baines Coleman > Cresswell Jenkinson

Mirallas Deulofeu Lennon > Lanzini Antonio

All in my opinion. We are certainly not 5 first team players away from them.

Agree with most of this though I would've definitely had Cresswell in our team on form last year.

True, if he played for any of the sky darlings he'd be hailed as world class. Only Aguero is better than him in the league in terms of strikers yet we see him referred to in the media as someone with a really bad touch who has no footballing brain and is compared unfavourably with nothing players like Origi. This for a player who was third on the goal scoring charts despite playing for an 11th placed team. He is a great striker and top clubs would be biting our hand off for him if they could afford him.

There are many on here who should apply for a job at Everton - they can clearly run a football club better than that fraud Moshiri. They'd have all the problems sorted out in time for the start of the season I'm sure

I'd rather us wait if it means getting our primary/best quality targets in for the positions we need.

And no it won't. You're completely underestimating what difference a manager who actually knows how to organise a defence (as one example) will make.

Martinez first season showed the difference mate, with a defense that still had its old regimen, we went clos to 4th
