Think everyone can agree Lukaku isn't though. World class should be reserved for a player that would automatically have a place in any team of the world. With Lewandowski, Benzema, Higuain etc. being better than him he's definitely not world class.

According to your definition Higuain isn't world class though. If he was why would real have sold him ?

True, if he played for any of the sky darlings he'd be hailed as world class. Only Aguero is better than him in the league in terms of strikers yet we see him referred to in the media as someone with a really bad touch who has no footballing brain and is compared unfavourably with nothing players like Origi. This for a player who was third on the goal scoring charts despite playing for an 11th placed team. He is a great striker and top clubs would be biting our hand off for him if they could afford him.

Honestly, I don't know what some people expect. He guarantees 25 goals a season in supposedly the worlds toughest league. Only really Aguero can boast the same. Neither Vardy or Kane will do it consistently.

Maybe Evertonians would prefer the good old days of AJ or Beattie who worked hard and scored 8 goals a season. You can't have it both ways. A strikers job is to score goals, Lukaku scores a lot of them.

We're getting into definition of world class now. If that is the metric then I'd argue that potentially only one premier league player would stand a chance of getting in (Aguero). Even then you could easily make a claim that Ronaldo and Messi might play upfront or Griezemann or Lewandowski are better.

In terms of class of striker in the premier league, Lukaku is in the top band wit Aguero Kane and possibly Vardy. No others come close to him.

No idea to have a guess but i would imagine the deal is not 50 million for stones then. It will be worded as they paid 50, we paid 25 and we have 25 cash left over
