Everton Transfer Thread 2016

That wont happen, im sorry, I dont see it that way.

The strategy has been clear from the start for me.

We sell Stones, which allows us plenty of wiggle room in the window, we will spunk our load this Summer, all over the place.

We will sign 5 players for big money and fat wages this window, depends on Outs I could see us signing up to 8 players this window personally, not all for big money tho.

It makes no sense not to go all out this window, ZERO sense to waste 12months, we can afford a major splurge, so lets do it now, cashflow and how much we can increase that will determine the future, but for now its all about building a squad capable of competing.

The problem is, as others have said, we arent attractive, we have no European football and we have finished 11th for 2 season, we havent won a pot for 21 years and in the grand scale of football we are a burp.

Hence us finding it difficult to attract the cream, for now.

Or in other words. Opportunity costs. If we can capitalize now, we should.

This is a very important point you have made. None of the other sides around us are sitting still, waiting to build. They're signing new players. We're, as things stand, in a dogfight with the likes of West Ham and the RS. We're nowhere near Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal, even Leicester or Spurs. And they'll continue to pull away from us unless we sign some quality and soon.
No need for us to prematurely ejaculate when we can explode into ecstasy !!:dance:

I was referring to the 'getting schooled' comment.

But even that is off topic so lets :locked: that shall we?

And I'm suggesting that you quickly get shown up when your google knowledge is thrust against the might and experience of Esk or MikeWex.

On topic, I actually agree with you that we should be patient in expecting signings.

Relax mate. Have a coffee. Roll the eyes a bit. Be a bit more circumspect.

You'll see it works and we will be successful come the end of the window for it.

I think some have let their personal expectations get FAR FAR too carried away with themselves.

Look at each signing individually.

Then each subsequent one as a bonus.

Remember. This is about the long term as much as the short term.

This point seems to be lost to some on this forum at the minute.

This. It seems many fans are desperate for us to make transfers to prepare us for the next 3-4 weeks, when really transfers should be made to prepare a team for the next 3-4 years.

The WRD lid said Koeman is livid with the balance of the squad, hell I spent a lot of time crying about it myself, the squad, whilst full of very talented players is so unbalanced its unreal, it has massive holes all over the place, it needs major work, not spaced out over 3 years, it needs it NOW, if we are to compete.

Who the hell wants to compete in 3 years?

I wanna compete next month, not in 2020.

I want to compete every season mate. :coffee:

Lol at the spectacular downturn in the type of players were getting linked with. Not arsed, sure we'll end up with a decent signing or two but it's pretty amusing given the names that were being knocked about previously.

Remember some lad saying we were going all in to sign James Rodriguez
